New to Wow Boxing

Hi All

I got ISBoxer to box 2 accounts in SWTOR, but I am giving SWTOR a little miss just now as my FPS is terrible atm, so waiting on pathes to fix this.

In the mean time I thought about going back to wow just to have a play around, i havent played since the new expansion came out but I have 3 accounts, so looking to upgrade the 3 accounts to the latest expansion and have a play.

As I have never used ISBoxer with WoW what is the best 3 char combination for PvE stuff? Also any guides on mods and best way to setup for Wow?

Cheers

Re: New to Wow Boxing

Probably easiest to just create 3 DPS classes (all melee or all ranged) and just PUG a Tank and a Healer.

Hi

Sorry I should have said that at the moment its just really normal PvE / Questing / Grinding ect just so I can get a general feel for multiboxing and maybe some lowend Instances, is this possible with just 3 chars? Without having to pug?

Re: New to Wow Boxing

It doesn't matter whether you're questing, instancing, raiding, or whatever -- The easiest way to start off is to pick 3 of the exact same
class and use the exact same spec so all you really have to do is press 1 button at a time to perform an ability on all 3 of them without the
use of crazy macros. When you start mixing things up with ranged and melee or different classes and specs that's where things become
more advanced.

Races, classes, and specs are really personal preference as in there is no right or wrong answer. Casters are easier to multibox than
melee but, everything is multibox-able.

Re: New to Wow Boxing

When I first started boxing seriously (i.e. when I started using ISBoxer) I only had 3 accounts. I ran 3 paladins through every instance up to and including Sunken Temple (the old, larger, better version) at level. I think 1 was specced prot and the other 2 ret. Of course, this was in the pre-Holy Power days when paladins were fun to play. YMMV.

Re: New to Wow Boxing

You can start off as 3x boomkin and kill stuff quick, then spec one as a bear to get into LFG instances quick. For the full flavor you can do tank/heals/dps and LFG two more DPS for at level content, or run lower stuff. LFG is really fast with a tank, and I only had a single person get upset when I was running a tank/hunter combo in heroics whilst farming for emblems. He quit and we finished the instance with four.

I ran most level 70 content (including Kara) and all the level 60 content except AQ40 with a 80 prot pally and an 80 hunter (neither ICC geared.) It is doable, but not having a healer is a big problem because you have to stop and eat after almost every fight. ZA was the most fun, but I wasn't able to complete it after the 4.0 changes to paladins, a big part of the reason Blizz and I parted ways.

Ultimately, you should choose classes you enjoy playing.

Re: New to Wow Boxing

Hi All

I have created 5 accounts, 3 of my own and 2 RAF (Not subscribed yet will see how I feel at lvl 20). I have created 5 Paladins as reading these seem to be a good multibox starter.

I went through the ISBoxer Quick Guide for WoW and have all 5 working. The only thing I am struggling with is I have to use my main to agro the mob then run back to my other toons for getting them all to engage the target. Is there anyway that wehn I attack a mob, that my other 4 Pallys run to the target and attack it aswell instead of me having to pull the mob back to my chars? With follow my other pallys are always just out of range of the mob I am attacking.

Cheers

Re: New to Wow Boxing

You've got 5 paladins and you're pulling to them?

As a long-time player of 5 paladins, here is my suggestion:
Just put them on auto-follow (Alt+F) and charge into battle! Walk up with the tank, walk slightly past the mob and turn around, and voila, the mob is staring at your tank, with its back to your DPS!

Alternatively, Interact with Target can move your characters to the target when used with Click to Move... I don't use this as much.

Re: New to Wow Boxing

Hi Lax

Thanks for your reply. I have all my toons on Auto Follow and I was doing what you do in your first suggestion just running slightly ahead and turning, unfortuantly for some reason when I attack my other toons are not quite in rage to attack with Melee DPS either so I end up tanking and killing the mob solo with the others just watching me. To be honest its the first time I have played a Melee Char in Wow, as I was always either a Mage, Ranger or Warlock. So its more than likely me and just trying to get to grips with the style, in saying that its early days as I am only level 5 at the moment.

I do have Interact with target setup for quest NPCs but dont have it setup on my DPS bars, I may try this later.

Cheers

Re: New to Wow Boxing

You can play around to determine the size of the hitbox. I may be mis-remembering, but I think the big orange circle under the mob determines how close you have to be.

When I played melee toons in LotRO I approach a mob with follow engaged, tell the others to step back (to stop following), pull the mob with the tank then walk backwards until the other toons were within range. This has the advantage of not exposing your back to the enemy (very important for tanking) and allowing the tank to build threat before the other toons were in range. The disadvantage is the mob is facing all your toons so you don't get the bonus from back attacks.

I've also used IWT, but found spamming it would cause the alts to run through the mob (and sometimes keep going.)
