Movement problems

What I want to be able to do is seamlessly switch from my master to a slave and keep on using the same keybindings. Currently, that isn't happening the way I want it too in PvP. However, it works okay for PvE, simply because, if my master is close to death, it's a wipe anyways.

When i first tried out ISBoxer I noticed my slaves would run in (sometimes) completely different directions then my master is going. I ended up unbinding all movement related hotkeys the slaves have ingame. If I set the in game movement keys in game back to the default keys and keep jamba's autostrobbing on, i'm somewhat okay in PvE. PvP, however, is a different story... In PvP I don't have time to deal with them going in separate directions AND still survive.
I was hoping I could fix this by unbinding all the movement related hotkeys for my slaves and master then setting them back up in IS Boxer. I tried it with: Key maps ---> General ---> Mapped Keys ---> New mapped key (named test w). I set the Hold any keystroke actions while hotkey is held to on, and the hotkey to w. Under the steps, I set it to target the current window. I've tried this with broadcast on. I've tried this with broadcast off, repeater on, mouse off. I've tried it with broadcast off, repeater off, mouse on. No, I didn't forget to save the changes in ISBoxer Toolkit. No, I didn't forget to export the settings to lavasoft. Nothing I've tried has gotten this to work. Maybe i'm doing something wrong?

Re: Movement problems

This is a common enough question that it is in the recently-created FAQ on the wiki.
http://isboxer.com/wiki/FAQ#Why_do_my_toons_move_in_different_directions.3F
Short solution: use follow to move your team around.

Longer/more complicated solution: For some PvP situations and some boss fights I know some players broadcast their movement keys (either to all characters or just slaves) for short periods. However, you need to be aware that over time they will move out of sync because they will not start facing exactly the same direction. At that point generally you want to hit your follow key to bring them back together.

If you wish to do this, make a mapped key, give it a hotkey (some people use the arrow keys on the keyboard for this purpose), make sure Hold is on, and then add a keystroke action to send the appropriate key stroke to Window: All w/ Current. For this to work, repeater should be off and key maps should be on.

Alternatively, you could paste a link to your current config - instructions here (use the privatepaste option) - so others can suggest how to change your current configuration. From your description, you may just need to change the Target of "Test w" from Window: Current to Window: All w/ Current.

Re: Movement problems

I guess I wasn't very clear about what I wanted. I want one, and only one, window at any given time to be able to use movement keys I set up using IS Boxer. I don't want to use the in game movement hotkeys (they quickly and easily can break jamba's AutoStrobbing in PvP). My current ISboxer configuration doesn't seem to be doing that. I tried different methods, hense why there is a test d, test s, and test w keymap. My current configuration: http://www.privatepaste.com/2bb1aa278c

Re: Movement problems

You're thinking of it exactly backwards, which is why you're having a hard time seeing Alge's response as the answer to your question.

The problem you are having is caused by having broadcasting mode enabled, and you should not have it enabled. You don't need to make the mapped keys you made -- they do nothing unless BOTH Key Maps AND broadcasting are enabled, in which case they act as a black list for wsad for broadcasting mode.

Rather than permanently enabling broadcasting mode, you should instead specifically map the keys you need and allow the rest to function normally. You can quickly map all of them using Many New Mapped Keys (WoW Quick Start Guide section)
