[Help] Wacky FTL

I have been trying to figure this out for week with no luck.

I have a new install and a new team.
My Paladin is my tank and my driver/main.
I have Jamba installed, but I'm not using the Jamba FTL
I use the ISBoxer DPS keys.

When I engage in combat my main target will often switch to the last NPC or dead mob. So:

Target.
DPS 1 (Volley triggers)
Target Changes Main stops attacking.

This happens often, and the only thing that seems to break it is a restart or zone in.

Any help is appreciated.

Here is my profile http://www.privatepaste.com/e1367bc77e

Thank you for the great product!

Re: [Help] Wacky FTL

First off if you made any changes after running the Quick Setup Wizard it would help to see your configuration (See the sticky "How to share"). From what you just said it sounds like your FTL DPS Keys may have been modified so that instead of doing "FTL Assist Me -> self" they might be doing "FTL Assist Me -> all other". If you do this, you are instructing each window to tell each other window to assist them, and everyone will "randomly change targets".

Secondly, WoW has this awesome "feature" where if you have a corpse targeted, or nothing targeted, it will pick a target for you (and not the one you want) if you attempt to use a combat ability. The way I know to avoid this is to use macros for your combat abilities, like so:
Code:
/stopmacro [dead] [noexists] [noharm]
/cast Lightning Bolt

And finally, there is an inherent delay in /assist that you may be running into. I drew a diagram that should help explain it:
Image
As the diagram shows, there's a window after changing targets where if you /assist too quickly, they will pick up your old target. This window is related to your ping.

Thank you for the quick response. I have a little more to add that I noticed today. The problem happens when I IWT with the slave toons. The main changes target to whatever the slaves have targeted (from IWT).

Re: [Help] Wacky FTL

Okay, now that I've got your config I see the real problem. :)

I assume you're using your G13 buttons, either G1 or G2. Both of them will exhibit this same issue.
You've got them doing this: "Do DPS 1 in FTL DPS Keys Key Map -> all" (Window:All w/ Current)
When they should be doing this: "Do DPS 1 in FTL DPS Keys Key Map -> self" (Window:Current)

When you use Do Mapped Key Action, it's going to be exactly like hitting the Hotkey on that Mapped Key, in whichever Target window you select. So when you tell it to do "DPS 1" in every window, every window is going to act like you just hit the "1" Hotkey in ISBoxer to a) tell all other windows to Assist, and then b) tell all other windows to press 1. You want only the current window to act like you just hit the Hotkey.

LOL. And now, that I have my targeting problem resolved, I start looking at Macros so I can visit the Dungeon Finder. First thing I see is the exact same advice in 2 Step Macro by Aragent.

Sorry I didn't look their first.

Re: [Help] Wacky FTL

I have exactly the same problem as the original poster had.

I have tried almost every possible combination of options in my keymap setup but couldn't get it to work.

I'm trying to get DK PvE Keymap to work.

Here's my current setup:

Your issue is because you're putting "Do Interact with Target in General -> all other". The IWT mapped key performs an FTL Assist. So you're right, it's almost exactly like the OP -- you need to send that to WINDOW:CURRENT instead of WINDOW:ALL W/O CURRENT.

Secondly, if you want to build Interact with Target into your DPS mapped keys, you can't use the built-in 2 step IWT mapped key because it was designed for a different purpose. You need to permanently enable Click to Move, and just send your WoW IWT keystroke (yours appears to be the ` key) to the windows you want to IWT.

For future reference, if you're resorting to trying every possible combination of options, you should probably just ask sooner :)

Re: [Help] Wacky FTL

Ok, thanks I can see the problem now.

I will definitely buy this program (or credits or what ever).

Now if I only knew how to set auto follow off. Well, maybe some day I will learn how to use Isboxer properly.

Re: [Help] Wacky FTL

If you're using Jamba Strobe, there's a Jamba command to disable strobe.
The IS Boxer wizard will have an isboxer macro, in the Control Keymap that has this command.
There will likely be a hotkey for this mapped key.

I personally prefer to not use Strobe.
Instead I use normal follow, and have set a mouse thumb button (very easy access) as the hotkey for FTL Follow Me.

With normal follow, any movement (forward, backward, strafe left, strafe right) or turning left/right will break follow.
There isn't a command to break follow, short of following something else or movement.
