PVP in WoW

1) Can I MB world PVP in Retail WoW?
2) Can I MB BG PVP in Classic WoW?

Short answer is
1. Yes
2. Yes

The longer part of the answer is: You have to do it without /follow, as /follow is disabled in certain circumstances.
Specifically World PVP in retail, BGs/Arenas in both Retail and Classic.

I guess pvp servers are off limits for retail then?

How frustrating it would be to just be MBing, then some jerk comes along and now my minions can't follow, or some of them get bugged out and have to be relogged in, only for him to res or I res to be in combat again.

Depends on how much punishment you like. However, it would seem pointless to join a PvP server, and not be wanting to PvP, so yes, you are taking on the fact that PvP is gimped for multiboxers in order to please the masses that have no idea how to play cohesively, or use their eyes to watch, and then learn how to defeat a multiboxer.

Defeating a multiboxer is like learning the techniques for defeating a boss. There are patterns to it, and a multiboxer will only have a limited set of moves or rotations they can follow, and once you learn that, a team of organised uniboxers can trounce a multiboxer, every time. Just they don't want to do that because oh, one or more of them will die, and they don't want to be the sacrifice, so, they whinge and whine about how unfair it is that a multiboxer can one shot them until Blizzard do some more gimping.
