Re: multiboxing, blizzard and isboxer.

i thought i will keep you posted about how the discussion with bilzzard developed. that is what i replied:

I find your argumentation very strange, not to say very wrong. Multiboxing is a possibility offered by the program, and as such it is an indivisible part of it and bugs must get fixed as soon as can be reasonably expected. What you are saying is that you do not mind taking the money of multiboxers, but you refuse to fulfill your maintenance obligation regarding this part of the game. that is in my view totally unacceptable and were i a us resident i would probably advocate a class action.

and that is their final answer:

As we are committed to making World of Warcraft as enjoyable as possible, we appreciate your feedback. We will forward your report to the appropriate people, but you may wish to contact them directly yourself at CSfeedbackEU@blizzard.com.

who knows, i maybe i will. after all, letting blizzard get away with mutilating its own game is hardly an option. certainly not when we are the ones to suffer from it.

Re: multiboxing, blizzard and isboxer.

my feedback:
After i complained about the way interact with target and follow misfunction t got the answer that i could only learn to live with it and that there was no intention of addressing and solving these issues. I expressed my view that it was an unacceptable position that violated the gaming rights of multiboxers, after which i was told that i could contact you with my feedback. I hereby reiterate my position that multiboxing should not bet put on a par with gaming bots and to do so is illegitimate not to say illegal.
Multiboxers are systematically thwarted in their gaming experience. The reply to my objections express Blizzards'belief that in the war agains bots multiboxers are an acceptable collateral damage. But multiboxing, whatever the initial and hidden intentions were, is a legitimate way of playing wow. That means that whatever is done to prevent multiboxers from fully enjoying the game is in itself illegitimate and should be stopped immediately. That the misfunction of the interact with target and the follow commands is not accidental is shown by many examples of obstacles thrown in the way of multiboxers and meant to make unmanned gaming impossible: a recent example is the (random) spinning of the mount (at least the one acquired through raf) when a group member wants to hitch a ride. the only way to stop the spinning is for the player whose mount it is to hit any key. A compeletely useless harassment since only that player can control the mount anyway (after all, it is supposed to be the toon itself morphing in its mount). But in a group with more than 2 toons, that means that the multiboxer has to stop whatever he was or intended doing and take care of the spinning. Not as dangerous as the way toons attract aggro after the use of iwt, but irritating nonetheless.
The placement of campfires in such a way that you cannot approach a questgiver as a group without one of the toons coming to stand in the fire is another, quite innocuous, example of the means employed.
As stated before, i fully understand, and support, the fight against bots, but it should be done without hurting the experience of multiboxers, a most dedicated players group as it were.

blizzard's answer:

"Thank you for contacting us and I am sorry that it has taken a little while to respond to you.
I do not believe we have any problems with players that multibox at all we also go as far as to educate players who contact us to complain about them. If any functions have changed with any function that hinders the gameplay for our multibox community then I can only apologise and know that the changes made will have been for a reason to stop exploitative bots that maybe able to get round our system.
I know this is not an ideal situation and hope that we can make some more changes soon to enable you to continue to enjoy multiboxing to its full potential but at this time there is very little I can do.
Again I reiterate that we welcome multiboxers and educate the player base to accept them also , and we will do everything we can to make your experience a great one."

this is as you can see a complete different answer... and a very vague promise.

Re: multiboxing, blizzard and isboxer.

i can't help but get very angry each time the game misbehaves because blizzard thinks it is a legitimate way "to stop exploitative bots that maybe able to get round our system". and what i really don't understand is how they could do it for so long without anybody protesting. are you afraid of being banned for speaking out loud? i don't consider blizzard an evil company, not better and certainly not worse than your average profit-seeking company. if they can do something cheap why bother look for more elaborate solutions? and as long as everybody keeps his mouth shut, nothing will change. i do not feel like like shouting in the ears of deaf people, so these will be my last words on this subject.
