random malfunctions are blizzard's weapon

i have been leveling up e guild i created for my toons, so i had to create and delete characters very often, which brought the following, very interesting phenomenon:
blizzard uses random "defects" to fight bots, this i have already stated in another thread.
i mentioned the spinning of the raf-mount, and specifically the malfunction of the iwt and follow commands everybody is complaining about.
i noticed the last few days other "bugs :
the escape keep sometimes does not seem to work the same for all screens, if you have 5 toons, 3 menus could appear, or 4, or all of them. hitting the escape key again could clear them all, or only half. there is no way to know.
when using iwt with questgivers, sometimes the quests are accepted automatically by one or more toons, but not by others.
the addons are randomly activated. i noticed that because i disabled them all except for isboxer, for all toons. and still, once in a while they would reappear just like magic! something most players, if not all, would attribute to their own mistakes. what i personally did also a couple of times. So, if for instance, the follow key stops working for one of your toons, check first that you indeed have not unchecked isboxer inadvertently, but do not exclude the possibility that is has been done for you by blizzard!

Re: random malfunctions are blizzard's weapon

Hanlon's Razor may apply here.

the escape keep sometimes does not seem to work the same for all screens, if you have 5 toons, 3 menus could appear, or 4, or all of them. hitting the escape key again could clear them all, or only half. there is no way to know.

If you have a target, then pressing Escape will clear the target instead of opening your menu. If some of your windows have a target, and not others, then it is perfectly normal for this to happen. To prevent it, what I do is press F1 and then Escape. That will ensure my guys have a target and then clear it. Press Escape again to open the menu. Alternatively, click on the on-screen menu icon.

when using iwt with questgivers, sometimes the quests are accepted automatically by one or more toons, but not by others.

Up to a specific level you automatically accept quests no matter what. I believe up to level 5, you automatically accept quests. So if a couple of your guys are level 5, and a couple are level 6, then some of them may not automatically accept quests. Since you say you're creating lots of low level characters, I suspect you may hit this fairly often.

Re: random malfunctions are blizzard's weapon

that is certainly right, but my remarks stand because i had the same issues with other toons at a much higher level, but not often enough to feel secure in commenting about them. the beauty of random malfunctions is just that: it is very difficult to pinpoint a problem because there always seem to be a reasonable explanation. and very often there is. that is why i think it is a much used method.
besides, your objection would be valid only if the same quests got automatically accepted at the same or near the same level. which is not the case. even in the start zone, it remains random.

update: i noticed that the chat window, which as far as i know can only be activated by enter, regularly starts by itself on one, anyone, of my toons. enter is a key i almost never use. i prefer the mouse to start the chat. when in chat, your toon is helpless and can not respond to any command. this can be as dangerous as pulling aggro with iwt. i think this a fairly new "bug".

erratum: i was playing 3 raf-toon + 3 normal toons. the difference in leveling may have played a role in the way the quests were accepted. i will keep both eyes open.

btw, did others with a raf mount inexplicably lose their passenger now and then, independently of phasing or afk? i never lost a passengers during phasing but i am mentioning it because it would be a reasonable explanation.
