Using ISboxer to mill/prospect/disenchant

Hello,

I haven't got past the quick start guide but it did work out for me so this bodes well. I have been able to have my slaves attack my main's target. I haven't explored the nitty gritty of the program yet.

I'm sure that people box for many reasons. One reason that I can see this program being really useful is to have multiple toons that have different professions mill/propect/disenchant at the same time.

i do have various macros that I use to do all the above on seperate toons. I would assume that all i have to do is change the setting to broadcast and put my macro on the same button (eg 5) then press 5 and they would all do the slotted macro?

Some questions on this

Do all the toons need to be near each other in order for this to work?
If I have a mix of alliance and horde toons will the broadcast still happen?
Do my toons need to be in a party for this to work?

One major plus also if the above can work is that I would want to play my main toon (with out slaves following him but logged on) and quest/farm etc on my main while the slaves mill/prospect/disenchant in a safe area. I would bind one of my keys so that lets say everytime i press 5 on my Razer Naga the slaves would mill/propect/disenchant (because I put the macro on the 5 in the slaves action bar) while sitting in Stormwind. Is this possible? Is it easy to do?

Thanks again and lax thanks so much for ur prompt replies!

Re: Using ISboxer to mill/prospect/disenchant

Broadcasting a keystroke works regardless of whether you are logged all the way into the game or not, whether you are alliance or horde, whether you are playing wow and eq2 and eve and others all at once or several wow characters in one party... it's really just a keystroke ("5") getting sent to the other window. What it does, or you do, in the end is up to you.

Whether things work in the game is still up to the design of the game. If the game lets /assist work across factions, then it will work across factions. Otherwise, it wont work. The "FTL" functionality will not be useful if you're not within range of using /follow /assist or /target on the other character.

Re: Using ISboxer to mill/prospect/disenchant

You could go with a repeater region, and click that.

Let's say you have a macro.
/cast mill
/use herbone
/use herbtwo
/use herbthree

You could have that macro on the same hotkey for several toons.
And you could make a repeater region over the hotkey, that sent the click to all of the toons.
So you can push that key, or click that button, and either way each toon would mill.

Two toons is half of the time, compared to one toon.
If you have a group of five toons, that's only 20% the time a single-boxer has to invest.

You could also have five auction toons, each posting.
If you use an addon like Auctionator, you could have each of the others set to "whitelist" so you don't undercut yourself.
Your auction posting would be 1/5th the time, if for example you were cornering the glyph market on your server.

You could set up a profile / character set within IS Boxer.

It launches your character set of "Master" and "Millers".
Set the mapped keys, so they send whatever to the current window (master active toon), and always send "5" to the "Millers".
That way, the Millers won't accidentally be broadcasting whatever to trade chat.

It's a very flexible program.
If you want to do it, and its not botting/delayed actions, either IS Boxer can do it now or Lax will add it to a future build.
