Multiboxing - Melee

I multibox with 3 guys usually and can not figure out how to get my melee guys in range so that they can all attack. Was looking around youtube and this site and saw them running past your controlled guy and attacking the npc or player. If someone could either tell me how to make this happen or point me in the direction of a tutorial to do this i would be very thankfull.
