How can I drive Tank and control who healer targets and heal

Hi Guys

I am still learning the ropes here. I am trying to drive the tank on my 5 box team and sometimes I need my priest to put out a renew, flash heal, shield or pain suppression on another character. How can I always drive the tank, but have the healer heal one of the others (Tank or someone else) without switching windows?

Thanks

Re: How can I drive Tank and control who healer targets and heal

Healing comes down to personal preference and people tackle it in many different ways. Just a quick list of a few possible solutions:

1) Use Straight Key Broadcasts in order send a key to the Priest. That key should be bound to a macro that is then hard-coded to cast a single support spell (or castsequence) on someone in your party. [http://wowpedia.org/Making_a_macro]

2) Use Click Bars (or Menus) to create buttons that, when click on, will send a key to the Priest's window which, again, will need to be bound to a macro.

3) Install a unitframe add-on (e.g. Grid) on the Priest which will allow you to use mouseover macros (or another add-on like Clique) to then heal your party. Use Video FX to show these unitframes on your tank (or every other game client). There is a Basic Healing 101 video on the Video FX Wiki page showing how to accomplish this -- The video is old, but the method still works.

I literally have a video coming out next week (hopefully) which outlines all of these three methods.
