Multiboxing with Wow

Just curious, any of you guys seen or done multiboxing with more than 10 characters??

I've seen a youtube clip of somone with 14 shamans + 1 DK = 15 characters

Taking down tower by tower 1 by 1. Crazy but insane.

I'm no good at powerleveling but if he has lots of life and knows the game inside out, my guess he can get all his character at lvl 80 within a month yup all 15. As to...all geared up...thats another question, can't quiet tell what gear he was wearing.

Point is, how many max multiboxers have u guys seen or maybe done as a multiboxer yourself? :)

Thanks

Re: Multiboxing with Wow

I forget whether it was Sam or Prepared, but at one point one of them was asking how to configure IS Boxer on the dual-boxing.com forums.
They both play multiple toons at once... I believe 30 and 36 or something crazy like that.

I don't believe you can use Left and Right versions of the same modifier, as an FTL variable.
So with IS Boxer, we have somewhere in the neighborhood of 50-60 unique FTL combinations.
Certainly enough to 10 or 20 box with easily.

I've never played with more then five myself.
If I were, I would run multiple groups of five, each as their own RAF combo.
Once I had at least a group of five 80's per set, I'd integrate the sets at that point.

Most raids seem balanced on the idea of 1 tank, 1 healer and 3 DPS (a mix of melee/range) per five toons in a given raid.
Ideally, you'd mix melee and range, for maximum flexibility vs say mobile fights or spell reflect mobs.
And cover all of the useful buffs.

Yeah, Sam and Prepared, the mega-multiboxers. A bit of forum drama from time to time to.

With 12 accounts I guess I could go to 10boxing, but like Ualaa I've never boxed more than 5 at a time.

There's quite a few 10 boxers around but it thins out a lot from there.

To be honest, I could never figured out why anyone would go beyond 10. You're not going to solo a 25-player raid because the event scripting is going to kill you long before the bosses are hurting.

You'd also need to level them five at a time, so that's a whole lotta leveling to grind through to get to 80 (and then 85 when Cata comes out). When you go to the extremes of 30+, basically you can do WG or AV......I don't know, that'd just bore me to death I reckon.

Personally, I've not seen anyone do more than 5 boxing.

Wow, just did a youtube search on prepared, wow...i mean one shot and boom dead. I would say, if i kept doing that in a bg, i would get bored due to no challenge because you'll practically be invincible.

Though the amount of attention you'll get, will defintely be awesome. Course there are some haters out there but ignore them :P.

I could never multibox 30 or more unless i was rich. Would take me a decade to power level all those up, i'm no fan of powerlvling as well.

I would love them to see two raid groups of multiboxers go raid the fraction side major city. Hands down, it'll be like south park where dedicated youths will kill 1 million boars to knock down those multiboxers. :D

[EDITED] Thinking about it, i'm having not soo much troubles lvling with 5 characters at the moment with the help of 300% lol RAF, i am comtemplating of trying another 5 in summer and i'll see how things goes from there. At the moment, my electricity bill is terrible, sighs...

Re: Multiboxing with Wow

The problem with RAF is it cuts out at 60, so while yes, it's pretty easy to level a veritable gaggle of characters to 60 in no time at all (/16-24 hours played), you'd still then need to level them 60-80 normally. While I could level multiple teams 60-70, the Northrend-Everything-Is-A-Collection-Quest grind would tear strips off me trying to level 3 or 4 sets of 5 toons up.

Honestly once you get to Northrend the drop rates are waaaay better than in classic. I don't mind the northrend collections so much. The outland drop rates aren't too bad either for the ones I do -- mostly just in hellfire (but don't do the Zangarmarsh collections, especially the one to collect 1,000,000 naga scales)
