Setting up keys

For quit a while now Iv'e been using a grid (click) box setup when multi boxing and it's rather inefficient.

For example.. via ISBoxer I have an 4x3 image box and certain things (my shammans for example) include Round-Robin "Frost Shock", another may include "Cast ALL Earth Elementals", ect....

Now.... speaking from playing a single shamman I can simply drag the spell(s) to my action bars and set my macro's up for whatever, no problem. Keybinds are set up everything is comfortable.

Now... add the other 4 shammans to the mix....
How do I get the same near result? For example on my "current window" I have Frost shock set to middle mouse click... how can I get that action sent (via RR in ISB) to my next shamman instead of either using the "grid click setup" of switching windows?

I know there must be a method in which to do this, but I'm lost at figuring out how.

Suggestions/help?

PS.... I run a 5 shamman (ele) team for farming or whatever, so if I get this problem solved, I "should" be able to apply this process to a mixed team I would hope :)

Thanx

Re: Setting up keys

A good approach is to have abilities on whatever keybinds you like in Warcraft.
Then use the same keybind as the hotkey in IS Boxer.

That way, you can one-box any toon from the team, and you know the hotkeys already.

If you want an ability to round-robin, there are two approaches.

A) Check round-robin, within Target Group.
Basically, set the target for the entire team, rather than for one character on the team.
And check the box to round-robin within target group.
If you have a mixed team (Say Prot Paladin, 3x Elemental Shaman, 1x Resto Druid), you can create an Action Target Group that includes all three Elemental Shaman, but no one else.
You can use an ATG as the target of a mapped key, or the entire character set, or a Slot number, or a specific character.
You can also check, do not advance to next step for x.xx seconds, and/or only execute a step once; if you prevent it from advancing for 2 seconds, but don't prevent it from executing only once... you can spam the hot key a little to account for latency or a missed spell etc.

B) Use multiple Steps
Most mapped keys have one step; as in the same thing happens every time you push the key.
If you give it two steps, the first step occurs first and the second step occurs on the next push of the same hot key.
If you have five Shaman, and want to control when an effect occurs, give the mapped key five steps.
I do this with my 4x Death Knight team.
On Step 1, DK A does Death Grip and DK B does Outbreak to apply both diseases to the target.
On Step 2, DK B does Death Grip and DK C does Outbreak...
On Step 3, DK C does Death Grip and DK D does Outbreak...
On Step 4, DK D does Death Grip and DK A does Outbreak...

For the most part, Option A is easier.
But if you want a specific toon to do something or multiple toons to do different things, you can use Steps to get exactly the effect you want.

Re: Setting up keys

So as mention in the "Frost Shock" macro, I could set this up in a RR setting and driving with my main, when I middle click mouse, my main sends the command, then if need be or if I switch targets, the second "middle click" would also send "frost shock" without having to change windows or anything.... correct?

....in the example above, I'd be running 5 elemental shammans... This is the type of info I'm needing to better understand ISB setups. I ran wrath with pally, shamansx3 and resto druid and did ok, just not real efficient :)

..Thanx for your reply

Re: Setting up keys

In the Wizards menu, select Mapped Key Wizard. On the first page of the wizard, tell it to help you set up a key under "FTL DPS Keys". On the next page, tell it you want to set up a "Round-Robin Key Broadcast". Then on the final page, it has a Hotkeys box for you to press whatever hotkeys you would like to add Round-Robin for. Click the middle mouse button (Mouse3) in that box, and click Finish.

Then you have your Click Bar button do this Mapped Key. :)

Re: Setting up keys

I'll give this a try on my desktop as soon as I can, in fact I may build my team back up with a fresh install of ISBOXER to clear out any conflicts and goofed up settings from previous versions I may have created.

With the now used ATG's and other implemented built-in features, it's probably best I start over anyway :P

Re: Setting up keys

You may find MiRai's Mapped Key video helpful in understanding the central concept of the Mapped Key. To answer an earlier question: you should never need to switch windows to activate an ability in another window while using ISBoxer. That doesn't mean you won't want to at times for a different perspective at tighter manual control
