Freezing at launch after 5.04 update

I am also having this issue; I'd rather not reinstall everything (since I'll probably just be at the same spot); has anyone else had this issue?

I don't get any errors, I simply don't get a login screen when I launch (even manually) the 32 bit executable. It runs in my task manager, and even says that it is continuously using 25% cpu, but nothing pops up.

thanks ~~ xar

edit: also, nothing changes if I rename the WTF folder. I also attempted to shut down any malware/anti-virus software, so it doesn't seem like anything is blocking the client from launching (but who knows, maybe something still is).

Re: Freezing at launch after 5.04 update

I split your post off the other topic for you.

Something is most definitely blocking the client, that's why it hangs :)

ISBoxer has a diagnostic option in the Help menu called "Diagnostics for game freezes" and this is exactly the sort of issue it's there for. So, make the game hang just like you describe, then in ISBoxer go into Help and select Diagnostics for game freezes. This will create what is called a "minidump", which will contain a snapshot of what is happening in the game process, and hopefully make it easy to identify what is causing the freeze. It will ask you to save the file, just save it as something simple (e.g. xarslez-5.04.dmp, anything really), put it somewhere you can find it, and then e-mail me the file to lax@lavishsoft.com for analysis.
