Newb Here- Frequent Crashing

I am on my 7day trial, Seems to work great when it works... swtor has just been crashing a ton for me and I cant figure out how to stop it.

I'm using 2 accounts, figured out how to get the basics setup (follow, assist, some combat keys) and playing the 2 characters. Every 2-20min a window will crash for seemingly no reason, I might not be doing anything at the time(walking over to a quest, or even standing waiting for something) it might be my main window maybe my secondary window.. I have the instant swap disabled, ingame set to windowed. At first I had the 2nd display on a smaller portrait mode monitor, but tried both displaying on the main monitor as well with no change.

Here is my ISbox config if that helps.. http://www.privatepaste.com/52f9b86a25

I have been playing the game for a while heavily and it doesnt normally crash like this.

Any ideas Much Appricated :)

Re: Newb Here- Frequent Crashing

When it crashes, does it produce an error message?

ISBoxer configuration is unlikely to produce a crash like this, particularly if you're not doing anything at the time. If there's an error message, that will definitely help. If not, under ISBoxer's Help menu there's a "Diagnostics for game crashes" option. Use that and follow the instructions, and after it does the Copy, go ahead and either Paste them here or in e-mail to me at lax@lavishsoft.com

Re: Newb Here- Frequent Crashing

Here are the "diag for game crash" reports I made one for both of the swtor.exe that normally run.
http://www.privatepaste.com/b15012aaf7
http://www.privatepaste.com/348ffab905

Just tried again and it ran for about 15-20min and then the first/main client crashed quickly followed by the 2nd as soon as it moved to the main window. The 2nd one producted a regular crash report.

Faulting application name: swtor.exe, version: 1.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x50e638f0
Faulting module name: swtor.exe, version: 1.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x50e638f0
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x004fda8c
Faulting process id: 0x1f48

Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars-The Old Republic\swtor\RetailClient\swtor.exe
Report Id: b86f0e61-5a90-11e2-a501-005056c00008

looking back to all the crashes yesterday the faulting module is not always the same (MSVCR90.dll, or swtor/retailclient/MemoryMan.dll, or sysWOW64/ntdll.dll)

Only happens when I run two..

Not sure where/if the game makes a crash report. (google didnt help.)

Re: Newb Here- Frequent Crashing

Have you run a memory test like memtest86?
With two instances of the game up at the same time you will be using more ram and may be pushing in to a faulty area that isn't normally touched.

What are your system specs?
Computer:
Intel 3930K (6 core, 12 hyperthreaded), Asus P9X79 LE, 16GB Ram
2 x Sapphire 7970 Dual-X Boost in Crossfire.
2 x 27" 2560x1440 monitors.

Re: Newb Here- Frequent Crashing

I notice you have UltraMon running. Recently, EverQuest players in particular have been reporting a crash when using this program, but I haven't heard of anyone else having problems with it yet.

See if this post helps: http://www.isboxer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3347

Re: Newb Here- Frequent Crashing

I just restarted and closed allot more then what was open at the time, and had some quick crashes.. Then I tired launching the game using the SWTOR - default profile (no dual boxing) and it still crashed very fast.. So its not really that there is two its just innerspace.

Now that I read about Ultramon I am about to close that and Try again, It was open above.

Doesn't seem like Ultramon made a difference, went in and stopped all the vmware services after. I figured it was something most people dont have, still no change. Not sure what else to disable.. Guess I'm going to start messing with the innerspace config maybe? I have regular launch swtor running great..

Edit---
Ok I Have been running prime95 since you brought up memory/stability.. looks like something is wrong.. I feel stupid

Re: Newb Here- Frequent Crashing

Well im not sure what happend to my memory to make it less stable recently or why i only noticed anything with inner space but lowering my 1066 ddr2 memory from 1075 down to 1066 fixed everything.. It has been setup that way for 2-3years.. when I first set it up it was stable higher then 1075 thats just where i left it.. Anyway I had a dual session 4+ hours long just now so it seems to be fixed.

Re: Newb Here- Frequent Crashing

Memory overclocking can be tricky; you may need to give it more voltage to be stable at higher clock speeds.

Glad you got that figured out though for sure :)
