Issues w/ Default Profile

Hi all and thanks in advance for helping me out with this. Been up and down thru the how-tos, reinstalled both ISBoxer/Innerspace several times, etc. and have not made any headway.

For the past couple of months, I had ISBoxer and Innerspace working great with SWTOR until a couple of a weeks ago, when I decided to replace my old mobo with an upgrade. Since the reinstall of Win7 Ult/64 (upgrade on top of a Win7 Home), I've not been able to successfully get SWTOR to work properly with my machine. Did the 2 days' worth of updates to Win7, made sure Dx was up to date, installed the newest video drivers (2x Radeon HD6700 in Crossfire X), etc. etc. The only thing that changed with my setup was going from an old Intel i5/EVGA mobo combo to a AMD 8-core/ASUS combo.

Now, when I "Add Game" to Innerspace and try to run the launcher by clicking on the Default Profile, it brings up the launcher and lets me log in, but the swtor.exe *32 processes start up, then disappear. No error codes or messages or anything. Not suprisingly, after 3 minutes, the Innerspace Uplink Console notifies me that the "Character from Set XYZ was not fully launched..."

The exact same thing happens if I run my character set from the "ISBoxer Character Sets" menu, or if i right click-> launch directly from ISBoxer... Launcher pops up, I log in, the swtor.exe *32 processes fire up in Task Manager, and then after about 15-25 seconds, they just poof. Also, not sure if it matters at all, but I have been running ISBoxer and Innerspace as an admin, just in case Win was balking at that, but it didn't seem to help matters. And, launching the game normally is working just fine.

Here are links to my ISBoxer config and a HijackThis log of running processes.

Re: Issues w/ Default Profile

Well, I appreciate your effort to get me this Hijack This! log but it only shows 2 processes, one being HJT. ;)

I need either the other type of log from HJT (from the "what to do if your game doesn't launch" post), or the "Diagnostics for game crashes" from ISBoxer's Help menu. Either one will provide me basically the same information (list of things loaded in swtor.exe) and will require you to have an instance of the game launched to the point where it would have crashed with ISBoxer (e.g. where it launches swtor.exe and waits for you to pick a server).

Quick tip also. This shouldn't prevent the game from launching, but your ATI cards being in Crossfire could potentially be a problem. It just might not perform as Crossfire under windowed mode (your mileage may vary, depending on specific driver versions, specific hardware, specific games, etc). It could work fine for you, but I would grab a utility like GPU-Z that can help you watch the GPU load and see how it's actually working out.

Re: Issues w/ Default Profile

Lax, thanks for the quick response. I figured a shotgun approach to data would work best, so here goes:

HJT Logs:
Launcher process - http://privatepaste.com/027ed91ad2
swtor.exe process, just seconds before it crashed - http://privatepaste.com/68fab97396

These came off launching the Default profile from the Innerspace contextual menu.

ISBoxer logs:
Launcher process - http://privatepaste.com/db59109302
swtor.exe process, just seconds before it crashed - http://privatepaste.com/bcfbe18294

These came off launching the Character Set from the Innerspace contextual menu.

Re: the Crossfire not really helping out that much, tis ok with me...had the same cards in my old mobo and the performace with 2 instances of SWTOR was still pretty great when playing through ISB/IS. I'll def check out the GPU-Z to investigate if I can squeeze anything else outta them.

Again, thanks for helpin me out with this! Can't wait to get playin again! :D

Re: Issues w/ Default Profile

Can you try shutting down Catalyst Control Center? (CCC)

Some users have reported issues with it in the past. Changing specific options may also help, like disabling "Catalyst AI" I think it's called.

Also, can you get the same ISBoxer log from the swtor.exe process, but without the game running NORMAL WITHOUT ISBOXER and right AFTER it would have crashed?

Re: Issues w/ Default Profile

Here is the log from the game running normally, from the original desktop launch icon, taken from right about when the actual character selection screen pops up.

Since there are two swtor.exe processes, i copied them each.

I also tried killing the CCC process and the AMD monitoring process (MOM.exe), but still wound up with the same errors coming from Innerspace (swtor.exe showing up, then poofing away).

Re: Issues w/ Default Profile

UPDATE:

After doing another complete wipe/reinstall of Win7, and then subseqently trying to run ISBoxer/Innerspace between each Win patch, I finally just yanked out my second video card, and BAM - it worked like a dream!

Strange that on my old EVGA P55LE board, the dual cards worked fine... but on the 990FX board (which supports dual cards better), nada. No matter, now I've got a spare card for another project, and I can finally get back to playin SW:TOR.

Thanks again to Lax, and everyone else who post about their issues! It really helps!
