Good wireless keyboard...

I want to try to gaming from the lounge chair which is about 12-15 feet from the 60" HD TV monitor.

Currently I mainly game on my laptop keyboard & a VX Nano mouse and am generally content typically using 3 buttons & scroll wheel on the mouse & mainly keys 1-9 & F1-F5 on the keyboard. Some improvements would include a few extra buttons on the mouse (ideally thumb area) & a few keys easily accessable in the upper corner of the keyboard.

Surprising I can't find any wireless keyboard marketed for gaming.

Any one have any experience with wireless keyboards & games and have any recommendations?

I am considering trying the following combo but wanted to ask for input/experiences/thoughts first:

Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution Keyboard and Mouse - 920-000383 - The speed you need. The control you crave.

Mainly looking for a good wireless keyboard with some programmable buttons and any included mice would be gravy... I am willing to stick with my nano for now &/or maybe try a G700 after I get a good wireless keyboard.

Note that I will also be posting a similar thread on dual-boxing.com...

Re: Good wireless keyboard...

Here's some more options you can consider, if you want a better selection of devices:

* USB extension cables are cheap: http://www.amazon.com/Foot-USB-2-0-Exte ... 725&sr=1-5
Just add a USB hub for some cheap win, 15 feet away. Downside is having the cord.

* Wireless USB hub is not so cheap: http://www.iogear.com/product/GUWH104KIT/
No cord running from your PC, but relatively expensive.

Re: Good wireless keyboard...

Lax, I don't know you you do it... Being able to keep up with everyone's posts on so many threads and helping so many people is an amazing gift...

My wife will likely throw a fit if I run a wire to the sofa or the recliner...

The hub may be an option if I need to go with a more powerful/responsive gaming keyboard though I would hate to have to duct-tape it to the keyboard or something like that...

Since I may end up hating playing that far away, even on a big screen, I may end up just trying something simple/fairly inexpensive like the following to begin with:

I am leaning toward trying these last two as entry devices primarily because they have similar key placement for F1-Fn as my laptop & I am not sure that I want to have different key distances when mobile... They both are inexpensive & I like that the IOGear one also has some features for being mouse free for multimedia/non-gaming but not sure I want to lose the flexibility of keyboard programming via set-point on the Logitech keyboards...

Lastly, on the related note of mice, I am going to try to stick with my Logitech VX Nano for now and try to get used to the two extra buttons it has on top that I currently don't really leverage in combat... If that doesn't work well enough I will likely have to move to thumb button(s) and, though the Razor mice seem very cool, I will likely try the following from Logitech:
