AMD 4 core vs 8 core, worth it?

I'm quad boxing Diablo 3, sometimes while streaming, sometimes while watching movies, and was just wondering if this would give me a performance boost.

To be honest, you'd probably get more of a performance boost if you could upgrade to one of these instead:

Bulldozer is a terrible processor and if you're seriously looking at upgrading your motherboard/CPU/RAM then you should look at Intel because they've been in the lead for years now and AMD isn't catching up anytime soon. If you're only looking at dropping a new CPU into your machine, then I would suggest the 1100T or 1090T.

Thanks MiRai. I'd heard bad things about bulldozer but wasn't aware the CPU I was considering was one. I'm locked into my AMD build for a while, I just can't afford Intel, but I'll keep an eye out for the two you suggested.

Yeah, "Bulldozer" is actually the platform and "Zambezi" are the CPUs. AMD is supposedly releasing their next platform code-named "Piledriver" within the next few months which will run "Vishera" CPUs, so we'll see how much it improves upon Bulldozer.
