GTX 680 2gb

Hey guys,

I was going to upgrade for my wow 5 boxer team to a GTX 680 2gb Asus http://www.amazon.com/DirectCU-Edition-1201MHz-Graphics-GTX680-DC2T-2GD5/dp/B00814JQPC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1362604843&sr=8-2&keywords=asus+4gb+gtx+680\ for my 5 player team for 2 monitors. I wasn't sure if this would be good as I have currently a GTX 580 3GB that is handling fine, but wanted a little less heat from the computer.

Let me know if anyone has been trying to run 5 instances of wow on this and had success or what you guys think.

Re: GTX 680 2gb

If your GTX 580 is handling your games just fine, you'd be spending $550 to drop maybe 10 degrees from the GPU temperature. I specifically say "GPU temperature" because the fan design on that card dumps the excess heat right back into the case instead of exhausting it out (like blower coolers do) and that's just going to heat up the other components in the case.

It's your money, but I'm voting 'no'. (I love my GTX 580s)

I got one free so it wouldn't cost me anything. Was just mostly worried about if it would be able to do better in performance or same as my gtx 580 running 5 characters.

Assuming you're not hitting or exceeding the 2GB VRAM limit, the 680 has more power than the 580.
