G13 / G510 is just....Help!!!!!

Hey Folks

After been reading, watch videos, ask some noobish question, about setting up Pro / CLS configuration, was I able to make a okay
working setup, for most parts.....butbutbut.....Logitech G13 Keypad is making my gaming life hard, really hard.

this is my setup http://www.privatepaste.com/22b9bd52ff

My imput device is Logitech G13, Logitech G510 Keyboard and Razer Naga Gaming mouse.

I have read and followed those posts

http://isboxer.com/wiki/Logitech_G-series#Using_the_Logitech_Keyboard_Profiler_software_with_ISBoxer

http://isboxer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=1406

I have the key stroke list, in ISboxer and everything seems to be working, I have unsigned all the keys on the keypads (G- and M-keys)

close Logitech Gaming software and Inner Space down, while configuration in ISboxer

example for reassigned - FTL assist Me (Hotkey: G13-G3) Interact with Target (Hotkey: G13-G13 Interact with Target - Keep CTM (Hotkey: G13-G5)

is't tested and seems to work.

So what I want now, is to config Logitech Gaming Software to work with normal keystroke that I assign to the gaming pad.

example G1 = ESC , G8 = Tab , G6 = ingame Mounting / Dismounting , The thump buttons under and left to the stick, is by default key 6 and 7 I don't know the corresponding G-keys to them but I want key 7 = Jump (space) and Key 6 = Map (m).

BUT it's keep fucking up big time for me, it's seems that even if I unsigned ALL keys on the game pad, will ISboxer still believe it's default keys even if they should be wiped clean

example G1 = 1 , G2 = 2 , G6 = R , G7 = T and so one....so even if I assign ESC to G1, will ISboxer or Inner Space still believe it's G1 = 1 I have one time made the game accept that G1 = ESC, but that was only until I change another key binding on the game pad, then it was back to start.

So now I have tried out a new configuration in ISboxer, making a mapped keys section called Movement / control where I have assign as exemple

G1 = ESC (hotkey: G13-G1 1 step - Actions - ESC all
G8 = TAB (hotkey: G13-G8 1 step - Actions - Tab Self

it's a odd way to do it, but it's seems to work. at least am I broadcasting ESC to all toons when I press G1 and swapping mobs with G8

But I can't get (on game pad) keys 6 and 7 to work, but as I said I don't know the corresponding G-keys to em either.

(1532-0111 0x4,0x1)
Unnamed Device: attached
(046D-C21C 0x0,0xFF00) G13: attached
(046D-C22D 0x1,0xC) G510 Gaming Keyboard: attached
(046D-C22D 0x0,0xFF00) G510 Gaming Keyboard: attached
(046D-C2AB 0x4,0x1) Unnamed Device: attached
5 input devices attached
Waiting for input...
Press the ESCAPE KEY to stop and Copy the results (for Pasting).
Device "G13" 046D-C21C v=0x203 p=0xFF00 u=0x0 (r=1,l=8,i=8)
- Button 1 at bit 58 -- 046D-C21C (r=1,l=8)
- Button 2 at bit 57 -- 046D-C21C (r=1,l=8)

This are the numbers I getting after using the button tester software......1st. = 7, 2nd = 6

I hope you can see my problems here, it's properly me who has done something wrong, but I am in a dead end, where I simply don't know what to do anymore, so I guess I'm down to either stop my good multiboxer intentions, or ask for some expert help.

I really want it to work out, I find it funny and interesting and can easy see some great possibilities in multiboxing, but spending a entire evening and night, only keypad problems is maybe not so interesting, specially when I don't know where to go from now on. and trust me I have read all posts I was able to find about the G13 setup. and tried to follow em, as they said. but it's still the same.

I haven't done any Variable Keystrokes in ISboxer

let's say 7 = jump (space) something like that, that will be to weird if I had to redirect keys for just to make a Jump on a keypad.

so what I need is a example on how to change to the G and M keys in on the Gaming pad so it's corresponding with ISboxer, Inner Space and the Game with out fucking my gaming life up, and make my hair turn grey before time.

I only need a few examples on different keys, on how efficient if can be done. so I can use em as examples to changes the rest my self.
maybe a key profile I can use, so I maybe can see the steps it's done in, just something to help me out of this dead water in swimming in now.

Best Regards

Ask questions sooner than later, often if you're spending all day on something it's a simple misunderstanding and another pair of eyeballs is a better idea than a bigger hammer.

ISBoxer doesn't believe G1 = 1, unless you set up a Mapped Key where G13-G1 sends the 1 keystroke (you haven't, ISBoxer wants to send ESC according to your configuration). Rather, the hardware is probably pressing 1 when you press G1 due to an un-cleared profile. You can verify this by using the button outside of ISBoxer/Inner Space. Every time you unplug the device and plug it back in, your G13 is going to reset to factory defaults, with the default buttons assigned, until you run the Logitech software and clear out the profile.

This are the numbers I getting after using the button tester software......1st. = 7, 2nd = 6

This sounds like what I was describing in the last paragraph about verifying the device's programming. It should do the same thing in Notepad. Inner Space/ISBoxer have no control over the device when used outside of the IS-launched games.

The buttons you're looking for next to the thumb stick are probably something like G13-22 and G13-23. Instead of using Lavish.ButtonTester.exe (which someone would have used before to get support for the device added to Inner Space), you want the "buttontest.iss" from the same thread. This is the one that will tell you the name, according to Inner Space/ISBoxer, of any button you press. If you're not sure about a button, just follow the instructions to run buttontest.iss, press the button, and it will become obvious. :)

Re: G13 / G510 is just....Help!!!!!

Hey Lax

Thanks for you reply

but I'm still lost, I have installed the "buttontest.iss" in IS, and you right, thump button are G-23 and G-24...so fare so good, but the basic problem is still the same, I have wiped the G13 profile clean....all G-button are clean, nothing is attach to em, it's clean...done...empty how ever Inner Space and ISboxer is still showing all the keys as the logitech default setup.....egg....G1=1 , G2=2 G3=q....and so on. so I still can't see how I can get past this.

I have tried to change the Jump (space) in Variable Keystrokes, but it's not showing the G-keys, only normal default keys 1234qwert ectect in the drop down box....so my idea of using G23-keys does not seems possible in ISboxer at least not in Variable Keystrokes.

but I basic thinks it has something to do with my G13 gamepad, it's is not wiping the keys, as it's suppose to do, even if it's shows it as clean.....or it's maybe ISboxer or Inner Space, that's somehow has copied the G-13 default keys instate of the clean keys.

So to run down

Inner Space - run buttontest.....shows all the default keys G1-1 G2-2 G3-q and so on, all default.

Examples.
ISboxer shows the G-keys G13-G1 G13-G2 and so on on most of the times when I'm changing the hotkeys.
General - FTL Assist ME (Hotkey: G13-G3)
General - FTL Follow Me (Hotkey: G13-G2)

Variable Keystrokes - Jump.....no G-keys....only normal default keys
Variable Keystrokes - Target Slot 1....no G-keys....only normal default keys

But if I shut down Inner Space and Logitech Gaming software, and start up Logitech Gaming software in admin mode, then start up Inner Space, and make a Run buttontest, then it will show G13-G1 , G13-G2 , G13-3 and so on....as a clean G13 profile I guess.

If I then change G1 to G1=ESC , G8 to G8=TAB , G15 to G15=Shift, Restart Inner Space, run Buttontest, then it will still show G13-G1 , G13-G2 , G13-G3 and so on.....in my mind should it show G13-ESC , G13-TAB , G13-SHIFT and so on, corresponding to what changes I have made in Logitech Gaming Software.

I hope it gives some kind of meaning, of what I'm trying to say explain. and hopefully also a idea of what I'm doing wrong, I hope that I have the options to leave some keys out of ISboxer, ect ESC, TAB, SHIFT, CTRL, M, SPACE and so on, keys that's I don't have to broadcast via ISboxer and Inner space.....but if it's NOT possible, and it's require me to have every single keys broadcaster via ISboxer and Inner Space (guess basic skip the Logitech Gaming Software) then please say so, and maybe if possible give me an idea on how to manages this keys in a sufficient effective way.

I'm always ready for a chat either voice or normal if it will help explaining the problems better. that this wall of text skype is Salian666 Denmark.

all help from everyone will be appreciated and hopefully helpful, as I said in the top post am I pretty stuck atm, so again all help or suggestions are more than welcome.

Best Regards

Hello There

A little update, it's seems my G13 Gamepad problem has been solved, ISboxer and Inner Space is accepting a clean profile now, meaning that I can start to config it as I want too, must say that "run buttontest" has been a great help. I run it every time I have made any changes :D

How'ever I still have a few minor problems with ISboxer.

current profil http://www.privatepaste.com/ab7252bba1

Moving in Formation

at the moment am I using (or trying too) the standard Star formation from Pro CLS configuration

Key Maps - General - Star Formation (Hotkey: G13-G9)

Move Backward, Move Forward, Move Left, is all working and corresponding to the right Character slots.

But Move Right is NOT, it's the little Bi... Æddredræm she is doing nothing, she is not moving, not breaking follow - nothing, she just keep following the current leader like a mindless cow - and I don't know why....I have check all over,
everything seems right, but I'm still missing something and I simply can't see what it is.....

Will you guys please have a look, and see what I am doing wrong.

My 2nd little problem is Shapeshift mounting.

I have two macro in Movement / control

Macro Mounting - Works like a Charm :D :D :D
Macro Shapeshift Mounting - Giving me grey hair :x :x :x

Key Maps - Movement / Control - Shapeshift Mounting (Hotkey: G13-G7)

The Druid is shapeshifting according to macro,
But the shamans nono, nothing, I have done precise the same, with all 4 shaman that I have with the druid, but the macro is still not working

again if someone will be so kind and maybe have a look, it's most likely me who has overlooked something

Shapeshift is WORKING now, a restart has fix it. :D :D

guess that's it for now,

hope to hear from you guys about this small problems.

Well, it's going to send E to Slot 5.

What I would do is go to Æddredræm's window (the one donig nothing), open up the in-game Key Bindings screen, and find the Strafe keys. Make sure they are Q for left and E for right in that window -- these are the defaults, so if all else fails you can click the button to reset bindings to default. It sounds like E is not bound to Move Right in this window.
