unable to turn key maps and repeater on or off

Not sure why it's doing this. Clicking on the icon in the upper left corner doesn't do anything. Even deleted the program and did a fresh setup for EQ through the wizard and no luck. Just recently setup the program again after about 2 years away from it. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: unable to turn key maps and repeater on or off

You have removed the assignment of the Always On Key Map from your character set, which is used to define which Key Maps are loaded by default when your Character Set is launched. As this contains the Mapped Keys which are linked to the Toggle buttons, then the toggle button no longer has anything to run when you click.

The Key Map may be caslled Always On, but this is only because it is not referenced by the "Activate Maps" mapped key, which is used to enable/disable key maps. This means that if the Always On mapped key is assigned to your character set, it will be loaded when your character set is loaded, and because it is never unloaded by the Toggle it is "always on". Of course, if you never load it, then it can never be unloaded.

To fix, you can select your character set in the top left pane, and then in the lower left pane, select Key Maps, and then in the lower right pane, click on and Highlight the Always On Key Map to assign it to your character set. Then Export to Inner Space.

And you may also want to consider having a quick read of this in reference to your "Normal" Key Map. http://isboxer.com/wiki/FAQ#I_added_a_n ... able_it.3F

Re: unable to turn key maps and repeater on or off

I had no trouble with the couple keymaps I put in under the "normal" setup when I was testing them in game. Do you see something that can cause an issue in the future with how I have it setup? I made similar setups in the past and had no troubles, but I didn't get too advanced with what I know ISboxer can do

Re: unable to turn key maps and repeater on or off

That's because the "Normal" keymap you still have assigned to your character set, so when you load your character set, the Key Map is also loaded, and thus the mapped keys within it still work. If it was not assigned, it would not be loaded, and it would not work either.

I provided the link to the FAQ, because should you want to Disable keymaps using the disable toggle (although only after you assign the Always On keymap because otherwise the toggle wont work), then it wouldn't disable your Normal key map, because it is not included in the toggle.

To prevent in future, don't remove the assignment of the Always On keymap from your character set. The default allocation of this Key Map is so things like the Toggle buttons will continue to work.

Re: unable to turn key maps and repeater on or off

Thanks for the input Bob. Currently looking through the sticky on the top of the EQ section. Some very serious stuff and extremely involved. It's making me think I need to look at bit further into what the program can do. Although I'm looking to start on the newest version of the progression server that will be starting soon so not sure how much of those options will be available. Certainly good info for thought though!
