Problem with screen resolution with WoW

I just noticed this today. But I haven't played for a few days. If I log on with the usual Battle.net, everything is fine. I am using a windowed 1680x1050 resolution on a 23" LCD screen, this is my main monitor...the other is a 20" LCD. I have ISBoxer configured to 1650x1028 for both monitors and to maintain aspect and avoid task bar. Up until today, this has been working perfectly. But today, the resolution is wrong, the screen is larger than the it should be ( almost like say 1024x768 or less ) so I am losing the bottom and right of the screen. I have tried rebooting my PC of course...no change with that. I have restarted both inner space and ISBoxer numerous times. I am assuming the problem is on my side, but I am not sure what else to check. Do you think I need to uninstall and reinstall inner space and ISBoxer ? Or is there a way to delete the ISBoxer setting ?

Thanks....Gary

Re: Problem with screen resolution with WoW

Sounds more like your Windows DPI, or display scaling settings have changed. These should be 100% or Smaller, depending on which version of Windows you have. This setting can be found in Control Panel -> Display.

Although I could be wrong on this, so it could be in the In Game settings, which you can cycle the Windowed/Windowed Fullscreen options, and see if they reset to what you are expecting.

I'm not sure removing and reinstalling InnerSpace and ISboxer will be any help (it usually does nothing except idle some time).

Re: Problem with screen resolution with WoW

I should have also posted that I am running Windows 8.1 What has me confused is that the problem doesn't happen if I log on with Battle.net rather than ISBoxer. The Windows scale/DPI settings look ok, that hasn't changed as far as I know anyway.

Thanks....Gary

Re: Problem with screen resolution with WoW

I just logged on with ISBoxer. I can change the screen to Windowed, windowed full screen, or full screen. But the only resolution choice is 1650x1028. Is ISBoxer over riding the blizz settings ? Or is that a clue to the problem ?

Thanks....Gary

Are you actually looking at the setting in the Windows Control Panel, or are you just guessing based off of what the text/icons look like on your monitor? The setting is located under Appearance & Personalization > Display. If it's set to anything besides 100%, then it will likely cause issues.

Re: Problem with screen resolution with WoW

I am having a problem finding what you are asking me to check. I can get to Display ok in Windows Control Panel. But I am not finding anything that shows a % setting. I am also not finding appearance and personalization that you mentioned. Sorry that I can't verify the 100% setting. Any other ideas ? Right now my raf is unplayable with ISBoxer, and like I said...I am guessing the problem is on my end. Or you would be getting a lot of questions :-)

Thanks....Gary

I didn't draw on the image, and it's just a random image from Google showing what the screen looks like - http://www.microsoftfanboys.com/wp-cont ... PPI-02.png

Depending on how you display your Control Panel, you might not see "Appearance & Customization," and in that case you should just go straight to "Display."

Re: Problem with screen resolution with WoW

There was a check box "Let me choose scaling for all displays" or something like that. It was unchecked. After clicking on it, I got to the screen mentioned and verified it was at 100%...not the higher settings.

Re: Problem with screen resolution with WoW

Looks like you guys were right. Even though it was showing 100%, I reapplied the setting and ISBoxer is working as expected. So that is good :-) Now, everything is too small outside of ISBoxer lol. I have Macular Degeneration so my vision isn't very good. So I will keep working on things, but I will try to keep this in mind, if the problem returns. Thanks you for all the help !

Re: Problem with screen resolution with WoW

One last follow up in case anyone else has this problem. At least with my setup setting the display to 125% works ok with ISBoxer. So at this point, I have no idea what mine had gotten set to, but it was bigger than 125%.
