Button target if Keymap is character specific

I have looked several forum pages deep, and the key words I've used doing a search are too broad to give me any results.

The virtual mapping and placeholders, directing and redirecting, still has my head spinning, basically too much information for my brain to wrap around. Each time I read or watch a tutorial I do absorb a little more, but my motor skills and comprehension are hindered by a neurological problem. Because of this I'm attempting a more direct setup, will the example I've given below actually work? I know it requires extensive input, and makes it impossible to inter change characters easily (which doesn't bother me, I usually solo box with the same 2 or 3 characters, basic taskings and just killing mobs, no raid or shrouded).

020: Spells (generic, example alt+1 for spell Cast 1) --->Target Current
030: Druid LineUp (named by spellset: spell 1: spell name - pointing to 020: Cast 1, etc.) --->Target Current
030: Shaman LineUp (named by spellset: spell 1: spell name - pointing to 020: Cast 1, etc.) --->Target Current

Combat (keymaps): Disempower
Step 1: Action 1: Do Mapped Key Fight 01 Grasp of Ro in 030: Druid LineUp Key Map --->Target Druid
Step 1: Action 2: Do Mapped Key Fight 01 Malo in 030: Shaman LineUp Key Map --->Target Shaman

Will that type of set up work?
Also, if so, when assigning the Combat: Disempower to a menu or click bar, if I set the Target to Current on the button used to activate it, will the actions still be sent to the proper characters?

Since both are spell slot 1, I know I could send it as one action to a common ATG, but again, with my neuro problem I get lost easily trying to backtrack, check and tweak settings, so the individual naming is a must for me.

Thank you for your reply Firescue17. Also thanks for the tutorials you've put together, they have helped tremendously. And, at the risk of sounding like a fan girl, I'm really fond of your Graphite UI as well. :)
