using a mapped key in text

How do I use a mapped key in text. If I have a mapped key and I try to use it in text it will not display. If I have the F key mapped and I try to type 'for' it will display as 'or' . the mapped key cannot be used.

Shift-Alt-M by default to turn off Key Maps. Type away, then Shift-Alt-M to turn Key Maps back on.
