Strange Behaviors following SSD Installation
I should start by saying I haven't really used a computer for anything except web browser/glorified typewriter since Dos and KALI were in vogue, so I may have done some stupid things. I'm going to include info that may be extraneous because I don't want to leave out anything important.
I recently decided to upgrade to an SSD and went with a Kingston 128g, because I bought it on a whim at staples. After installing the drive it was recognized in BIOS but not in windows 7. The installation software that came with it was worthless. I went to disk management and found the unallocated drive and created a new volume, quick format NTFS. Then I did a clean install of windows 7 to the drive using an image mounted in Daemon Tools, as my DVD drive is currently not working. I then did a clean install of the game I am boxing - Path of Exile - and a clean install of ISBoxer/Innerspace. Then I migrated the required files from the old installation as per the FAQ.
My team was/is working perfectly on my old drive and old installation on a 7200rpm HD. I had manually edited the productionconfig file of the game to set textures far below the minimum selectable in game, to get good performance from 5 clients simultaneously. I could run them all at 30fps this way.
When I launch my team from the SSD install, 3 of the 5 clients launch with heavily reduced textures. Two of them launch with the minimum selectable textures in game. If I launch the client myself through innerspace -> default game configuration, it launches with the reduced textures. I can then do this 4 more times, and THEN launch my team, and they all will be on the pre opened clients. However, they all struggle to maintain 15fps. This is even worse if I just launch my team and it makes the 2 clients be higher textures then I had specified.
So my questions are how do I "fix" innerspace launching two of the clients at textures above what I had specified?
Is there any point to "fixing" this issue if they are already running at a far lower fps when manually launched vs my old drive?
Why would I be getting worse performance from the SSD?
I realize a couple of those perhaps aren't directly related to ISBoxer/Innerspace, but I'm hoping you might still have some insight. Thanks very much.
edit: I am at work and do not currently have access to my isboxer configuration. I will upload it when I get home if this will be helpful.
