First time user ISBoxer

Hello all,

Recently I won a month of free time for ISBoxer from Inigo Montoya (A Diablo3 streamer on twitch.tv). For me this was awesome since I own 3 accounts and now will be able to multibox on all those accounts.

I installed ISBoxer and Innerspace but then I got stuck with an Innerspace update. When starting ISBoxer and setting up my Innerspace, Innerspace asked me to update DirectX. Ok no problem, the message provided me a link directing me to a microsoftsite to update. I downloaded it but then I got the error that the wasnt the correct one. Since I am completly new to ISBoxer and troubleshooting it I hope anyone on this forum can help me out.

Much appreciated!!

PS. Looking forward to play with my 3 toons :P

Re: First time user ISBoxer

This was taken care of in the ISBoxer Chat Room. For anyone that finds this by searching...

I will first mention that usually when people ask about this issue they feel the need to mention that they have DirectX 10 (because they have Vista) or DirectX 11 (because they have Windows 7 or later) and think that therefore they should not need any updates to DirectX 9. This is not the case; they are separate from each other and Windows does not come with the periodic updates to DirectX 9, just the core of DirectX 9.

The required DirectX update is typically installed by "dxwebsetup" and actually the ISBoxer installer runs this for you. Here is the direct download to the updater: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35. This updater definitely works on Windows 7, Vista, and XP for most people.

This udpater MAY not work on Windows 8 or later. If it does not, then you may need to use this full download instead: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=8109. When you download this, it pretty much just installs a bunch of files into a folder. Then you have to actually open up that folder, and run the setup program in it. This will install the missing DirectX update, even on Windows 8.
