Mouse broadcasting of using extrawide window layout for main

While 5-boxing I want to setup one of my slaves to do my gathering professions using mouse-broadcasting. Problem is that my mouse-broadcasting in the horizontal is way off, I know why (see below), just don't know how and if it can be fixed.

I run a Portrait-Landscape-Portrait setup for my Main Char on a 4960x1600 resolution. The slaves are in a swap group and run on a 4th monitor on top of the P-L-P setup at a resolution of 1680x1050.

I've set cursor positioning mode to: "Scaled to fit. In the vertical mouse-broadcasting scales perfectly (1600/1050=1.52) so roughly 1,5 pixels up on my main equals 1 up on my slaves. But, as mentioned above, in the horizontal its a different story (4960/1680=2.95), roughly 3 to 1 and sadly totally usable.

Would it be possible to set up mouse-broadcasting in a way that the horizontal scaling would equal the vertical scaling (1,5)?

Thanx & Greetz

Re: Mouse broadcasting of using extrawide window layout for main

The only other case I'm aware of like this, was a few years back when Zorba asked me to help him with his Eyefinity setup, where the main would be on 3 monitors and the others on just one. What he did was put his game's UI on the center monitor of the 3, and then use the Center positioning mode instead of scaling.

As far as scaling 4960x1600 to exactly match 1600x1050, you would have to physically move the mouse 3 times as far to move it horizontally than you would vertically! I'm not so sure that this is what you want, it would be totally awkward to scale it like that.

Re: Mouse broadcasting of using extrawide window layout for main

Thanx for you Answer Lax.

For me a solution would be that when I use mouse broadcasting it would ignore my two side monitors and scale as if I was only using my center (landscape) monitor for my main. I don't care that I can't control the game UI when using mouse broadcasting, that is not my intend. I would just like to use mouse broadcasting for Gathering with interact on mouse-over (or what's it called) and AOE spells of my slaves. My center monitor runs at 2560x1600 the smaller monitor on top runs at 1680x1050, both 16:10 so a perfect match for scaling. When mouse broadcasting from my main when I reach to side of my center monitor I want the broad-casted mouse on my slaves to also be on the side edge of the screen, when I go beyond that edge on my main (which I won't do for gathering or AOE spells anyway) I don't really care where the broad-casted mouse pointer on my slaves is. I just want to use it matched on my Main verses the smaller one on top. Hope you get my thinking otherwise I will make some small sketches to explain.

When I run my Main only on the center monitor of my P-L-P setup it all matches up just like I want, but that would be a waste of two monitors and my beautiful extra wide setup. Do you get what I want and is it possible?

Re: Mouse broadcasting of using extrawide window layout for main

What you're asking me for is an additional option in ISBoxer that combines the "From center" option with the "Scaled to fit" option in your Repeater Profile. That's fine, but will take some time for me to actually implement. I can probably do something this week on that...

If you want a suggestion that you can do right now, it's to use From center and not also require scaling. (i.e. either run the center monitor in 1680x1050 for the moment, or run your slaves at 2560x1600)

It would be great if you could ad that option. I can wait a few day no problem.

Please tell me you've done so.

Thanks alot Spike

Re: Mouse broadcasting of using extrawide window layout for main

I found time this morning to take care of this one, luckily there was not too much involved for this request.

Code:
ISBoxer 40.6.0204.1
    * Added new Cursor positioning mode to Repeater, "Scaled to fit, From center"; the previously-existing "Scaled to fit" option is now renamed "Scaled to fit, From upper left corner"

Update via Help->About ISBoxer :)

Re: Mouse broadcasting of using extrawide window layout for main

Sorry for reporting back so late, been busy at work these last few days.

Tried out the new cursor positioning mode, unfortunately it doesn't do what I hoped it would do. It behaves exactly the same as "Scaled to fit, from upper left corner" as in it scales the mouse position of my entire extra-wide-screen main setup to the single monitor my slaves are on. Vertical scaling OK, horizontal scaling spot on center screen, but getting more and more out of position when going toward the sides of the screen.
What I had opted for is the scaling to behave as if I was using only the center monitor for my Main and scaling the mouse accordingly. Meaning scaling the mouse position as if I was playing my main on a 2560x1600 and my slaves on a 1650x1050, so that when the mouse (on my main) would cross the border of my center monitor on go onto one of the side monitors the mouse (in horizontal direction) would also reach the edge of the screen my slaves are on. When the mouse is positioned on one of the side monitors on my Main Char, on my slaves there would be no mouse because it would be beyond the side edge of the screen. Get my drift? Or should I draw some pics the explain further?

Thanks Spike

I think you mean in proportionately the same position of the monitor.
In a generic setup, where the resolution is the same for each instance of the game, checking 'Instant Swap' gets that.
Not really sure, when the middle instance is so much larger than the others.

Re: Mouse broadcasting of using extrawide window layout for main

My slaves are in their own swap group, because of the extra-wide setup of my main. They are on instant swap, but I don't want them to swap with my Main.

I took some print screens to illustrate my setup and to further explain how I would like to have my mouse being broad casted:

This is what my monitor setup looks like:

My monitor setup: Display 1, 30 inch (16:10), 2560x1600;Display 2, 20 inch (16:10), 1680x1050; Display 3 & 4, 20 inch (4:3), 1600x1200.

This is how I would like to have my gamewindows setup while 5 boxing WoW:

This is the setup in which mouse broadcasting behaves the way i want it to(proportionally as stated above by Ualaa).

What I want is to play in my prefered game setup with my main in the extra-wide window, but mouse broadcasting to behave as if I was only using the center monitor for my main (last picture). This way I can set my main- and slave-windows to an identical zoom factor (meaning the ingame view on the center monitors of my Main is the same as in the slave windows, when I then position the slaves to stand at the same spot as my main I can use mouse broadcasting to gather and deploy AOE spells with my slaves.
