Must be another way to get into wizard than reinstalling

Hi, I really enjoyed using ISBoxer until my power unit died - and I was only as far as using the repeater!

Now I'm trying to get it going on my back-up gamer. I have found the actual wizard, not a picture of it, three times now, all three by accident. The first time on my now still smelling like melted electronics primary gamer and I never got further than repeater because I never could locate the wizard, I found plenty of PNGs of different parts of it, though. And besides, I was solo cratering too many level 5 mission ratsI It was great, and then I died along with my power unit and three months worth of mining to pay for the ships, rigs and modules... Maybe only two and half months with ISBoxer!

I found it right off when I was first installing on this rig, but I did a better job getting the character set to launch on burnt rig. I've learned so much about the program while looking for some way back into the wizard, that I think I can do a better job on my character set now, so even when I got down to mindlessly clicking every piece of blue text I could find, it was serving a useful purpose. I even got to where I was reading questions on the forum and formulating in my mind something that was close to the answer provided. Not that I'm asking to ever be an admin again.

Finally, my desperation built to the point of just doing a reinstall... and there it was.... Eureka, Solomon's Mines, El Dorado, Thick Shake Thursday at Chicken Charlie's! The wizard leered at me from the monitor.

I know there must be another way to get to it than by going to the get started page and picking step three - installing ISBoxer.

Please tell me.... please..?

Thanks, especially if you got this far

If you don't see the File, Wizards, and Help menus at the top of ISBoxer, tap the Alt key and they will probably appear. Otherwise, you can right click on Character Sets as if to create a new Character Set, and the Quick Setup Wizard is one of the options. The Quick Setup Wizard is also hotkeyed to Ctrl+Q.

Added this information to the Quick Setup Wizard wiki page. Thanks for pointing that out.

AHH ... the old tap the alt key trick! I was beginning feel bad as I sat here looking at the file/wizards/help options on the screen that came with the reinstall, thinking - How could I have missed that? I was just sure I'd explored all those options.

All of the options you provided are intuitive, just not to me, I guess.

Thank you very much for your help and a very nice product. I look forward to delving deeper into its cavernous possibilities.

I apologize. I just found exactly what you provided here for me as a very gracious response to what falls into that territory of the stupid question. I think I read it a few times even - the links there are all indicating recent use.

I learned a long time ago from a very good teacher that it is an art and often a virtue to inform without scorn; to refrain from "besting" another, even when you so easily could.

So, I thank you twice now!

PS - anyone who tells you there is no such thing as a stupid question has never been in a position to have fielded very many questions. The art is answering in such a way as to not ridicule or belittle, even when the knothead is really asking for it!
