New User -- Lag

First, my configuration. http://www.privatepaste.com/9629ace5dc

Very new to this, so please bear with. I am running 8 accounts, across 8 different Monitors with the following hardware:

Processor: AMD 3.3GHz FX-8150 Octo-Core Processor
Graphics Card: Dual 4GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon HD 6990
Memory: 16GB Kingston HyperX DDR3 1600Mhz (4x 4GB) Dual Channel Memory
Monitors: MD230x6 (6x23" samsung) & 2x24"Visio
Game: EQ1

Framerates are extremely low and I am unable to adequately move my characters around. I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction on what settings I need to tweak to get this going. Obviously, running 8 monitors, I am not in CF on my Radeons, and I do not have cross-monitor swapping enabled (at least I think I don't, I'm not swapping during play). I do have WinEQ2 and EQPlaynice installed, but when I run either of those, the framerates are much much worse, it's completely unplayable then. Also, I have 60F/30B, default framerate settings, I did tweak those a bit, up and down, to no avail (although maybe I didn't tweak enough).

appreciate any input, thank you!

edit-- I should have added, when I start up 8 different instances w/o ISBoxer+Innerspace, I have no less than 120fps across all screens. With ISBoxer+Innerspace, I'm generally running less than 15 (usually less than 10) on the background screens and about 20 on the foreground. I'm looking for cpu/memory spikes, but just doesn't happen. I'd love to say I pushed the hardware to the limit, but I'm really not seeing that.

Re: New User -- Lag

My first thought is FPS limiting - especially after enabling EQPlayNice. EQ has FPS limiting, ISBoxer has FPS limiting, and EQPlayNice has FPS limiting. If you run EQPN you need to disable FPS limiting in either ISBoxer or EQPN, and I would probably double-check EQ's as well. If you want apples-to-apples comparison to your 120fps on all 8 windows (960 fps is pretty impressive...) you will need to completely disable the FPS limiting in ISBoxer (and EQPN if active). You can also disable ISBoxer's CPU core selection to rule that out.

To do both of these things, just run the CPU Strategy Wizard (from the Wizards menu) and do this:
1. Set the two FPS limit settings to 0
2. Set "Master slot" to <NO SLOT>
3. Set the CPU Strategy drop-down box to "Select no CPUs, let the game do it" (it should NOT have anything after it in parentheses after setting the above 2 options)
4. Click Finish

This should help determine whether the issue you are having is due to the selected CPU Strategy.

Re: New User -- Lag

Thank you for the reply. I worked with some folks on the chat late last night, whom were extremely helpful, and seemed to resolve the issue. I had messed up the Window layout in a big way and I downloaded drivers just to be on the safe side (although, I was already running those version, I just re-installed). I got it so I have 1 slot per screen, no cross-monitor or hole swapping. I left instant swapping on though. I'm not getting as good as framerate, but it is much much better. It's actually playable now.

I like your suggestion though. I would like to get more fps out of it though, but I'm very happy with what I've got going now. I'll probably do some tweaking later after I get in-game and get used to this. I have EQPlayNice and WinEQ completely disabled. I may as well remove them, I really have no need for it.

Thank you again for your advice, much appreciated!
