Anarchy Online does not launch after patcher

I would post this under the game specific forum but there is not one for it so here we go.

Outside of Innerspace and ISboxer I am able to launch Anarchy online.

I have added the game to Innerspace by adding the .exe from the path. In this example the file and are as follows:
J:\Funcom\Anarchy Online beta ok4\anarchyonline.exe

When I right click a character from within ISboxer it launches the patcher. I click PLAY one that loads and I get a blank screen. At this stage I expect to see anarchyonline in my task manager. Instead I get nothing. I receive no errors.

I had attempted launching both a team and a single account. Thinking I may have set the something wrong in the setup wizard, I created a test profile and did not modify any of the default settings. This allowed ISboxer to put in all options. I simply clicked next until it was finished.

I am using the new engine and have as of yet had no issues. I came to ISboxer because I am unable to get shiftwindow to work. Every time a window would be resized, it would change in size then restore the resolution that was launched from the patcher making the game unplayable. I hear ISboxer is the way to go. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Well, there is an "Other" forum under the Games section....

Onwards we go.

A quick test shows me that Anarchy Online should launch correctly under InnerSpace.

When I pointed InnerSpace at the game using the standard desktop icon I get two profiles created.
Anarchy Online Default Profile, which launches "D:\Games\Anarchy Online\Anarchy.exe" <--- this matches my desktop icon for the game
Anarchy Online No Patch, which launches "D:\Games\Anarchy Online\AnarchyOnline.exe" IA700453413 IP7509 DU <-- parameters for this executable.

In any case, both profiles launch successfully, the first loads the patcher, I hit Play, and away we go. The second loads directly into the game.

So, you can Add the Game, but dragging your desktop shortcut to the Add Game function, and it should work, and add the two profiles like it did for me, or you can edit your existing game profiles to point them to the correct executable or add the correct parameters.

Failing all that, please get a diagnostic.

Thank you for the quick response. I thought we nailed it as I launched it successfully. I had it at the wrong resolution. It launched in full screen using 1024x720 so I exited and corrected the resolution.

Now I click play after trying to launch from either the Innerspace launcher (using the dafault patcher) or using ISboxer which seem to do the same thing and nothing happens. See diagnostic above.

An update on progress. I deleted all game profiles in Innerspace then added again from shortcut. Because my shortcut is not the default, I just changed the filename at the end of the shortcut to anarchy.exe instead of anarchyonline.exe

I would continue to get to the patcher but nothing would occur when I click play other than the window going away.

I dug through some forums again now that I understand the process a little better. Clicking settings on the launcher and removing the check from "run in window"

On doing so, I noticed that the dropdown bow for resolutions was blank. set this to 1980*1020 or whatever your resolution it.

Click "Ok. Click "play"
Takes a minute but it loads.

Next issue is the resolution. Its great that isboxer squishes it but at the same time the font is slightly difficult to read. I'll have to play with the prefs to see if I can set a customer resolution to 1920*850 in order to give the font room to be fully drawn. This would be no issue if launched in windowed mode but ISboxer gives the fun error of "an error occurred in the device reset callback function" when doing so.

Not sure yet how to get around that. I saw some reference to a development build but I have not been able to locate that info again as of yet.

Resolved the resolution issue. The launcher will only give options for resolutions that are available to the video card.

I have a GTX 970. Using the NVidia control panel I was able to create a custom resolution at 1980*850. It may need some further tweaking but the text is now fully readable. Selecting this resolution in the patcher while making sure to keep that check out of the box for windows mode allows the game to launch and be drawn correctly on the screen.

Hopefully there are other diehard Anarhy players that give this a shot later. I was initially turned off thinking AO was a lost cause with ISboxer.

I'll tackle the FPS issues in lamens terms next time around.
