flickering innerspace connection

on two computers everything is working normally. On my main computer I have innerspace connecting briefly then disconnecting then connecting. Back and forth. I've tested the connection on things like speedtest and gameplay and pulled out and reinstalled innerspace. No idea what the problem is....

Connecting with what?

If it is connecting with your second computer, are they on the same LAN? and I suspect they will need to be on the same segment/subnet.

Re: flickering innerspace connection

I have 3 computers. They are all wired. They are all on same network. Two work fine. The one that now does not has been working great for months. Now when I click the innerspace icon, it connects, then disconnects from innerspace repeatedly. Eventually a box pops up asking for my password I give it, click keep the password and it tries some more. Eventually a box pops up saying I've connected but keep losing connection, probably because of unstable connection through wifi (which I am not using). It suggests I try again later.

My connections are complex, but I think this may be enough info.

Thanks

Re: flickering innerspace connection

This will be less than helpful I suspect, but if you have 2 working, and 1 not, then it suggests the problem is on your end.

The complex bit you have left out may be important in this respect.

Obvious things to try
1. New network cable you know works.
2. Change ports on the other end, i.e. change the flakey computer to a port that one of the working ones is on.
3. If the complex setup is truly complex, simplify it so the computer connects in the most direct way to the internet.
4. Remove any firewalls in the way.
5. Update drivers on flakey computer.
6. Reinstall flakey computer with a minimalist install.

Good Ideas...been working through them myself. If a car doesn't start, first thing to check is probably battery connections...
Strange thing is...everything else seems to work... internet speed is good, I'm typing on this etc etc.

Re: flickering innerspace connection

It was Avast...having a real problem with the mobile program. Listed as exceptions now all is good.

Thanks for the attention :D

Re: flickering innerspace connection

I found it was Avast by disabling it. Since I didn't want it always disabled I looked for exclusions/exceptions possibilities.

Avast does have a somewhat hard to find exclusions list,

Settings -> Antivirus -> Long Scroll down to exclusions :P

And yes my internet connections are complex... I have two routers and hence two internet connections and two adapters in each computer. I use Connectify Dispatch to put the two internet connections together so that I have 10 mbps + 10 mbps = 20 mbps. Took a while to figure this out but it does help and that's the best I can get where I live.
