Inner Space becomes non-responsive

I'm currently on the 7 day trial version, and am having some issues; the main one is that I've got the computer on high performance setting, where the hard drives never turn off and the monitors do, after a specified time.

Since installing Inner Space, the computer becomes non-responsive if the monitor turns off while IS is running (and it doesn't matter whether ISBoxer is also running or not; I checked); the windows background goes black, the Inner Space window becomes an empty window, as does Firefox, the taskbar icons overlap, and the system is no longer responsive to mouse clicks. If I Ctrl-Alt-Del and choose "shut down" or "start task manager", I have the decorative blue windows 7 screen, and nothing else happens until I hit the power button or the reset button.

Asus P8Z68-VLx
i7-2600k
32GB Ram
HD 7950
R9 270x
SSD's for Windows 7 64 bit Pro and WoW
External HD's for old games

Now what? I want to like this program, but having to reboot my computer if I have to leave my computer for a while is ridiculous. (and I work with LCD screens at work that have managed to get burn-in, and don't want to have to replace my monitors anytime soon...)

Re: Inner Space becomes non-responsive

Are you leaving the main Inner Space window open? It should generally be minimized, otherwise it's similar to leaving a 3D game running. When you have it minimized, it shuts down its 3D rendering and is pretty much idle.

Re: Inner Space becomes non-responsive

Update:
The issue actually seems to be related to the AMD drivers and DisplayPort (remember you have to use at least 1 DP for Windows to recognize 3 or more monitors) and the Windows Power Plans that turn off the monitors.
I hadn't made the connection between the "latest and greatest" Catalyst CC and the issue.
I wound up setting the Windows Power Plan to having the monitors never turn off, and got a switched power strip for the monitors.
Now I just have to develop the habit of hitting that switch when I leave for more than a few minutes ;)
Thought y'all would like to know.
