You want to avoid the F4 key, if ALT is a modifier for one of your slots.
You don't want the game to receive an ALT + F4.
The numpad keys can be used, but they're not friendly with all modifiers.
In general a straight numpad key is better than one with a modifier.
However the NumPad treats the keys as different, depending on whether NumLock is on or off.
I'm a fairly quick typist, so I use keys that are easy to reach with my left hand generally.
With my right hand on the mouse.
I like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
And A, S, D, F, G.
And Z, X, C, V, B.
I do put specials on certain keys.
Backspace is one of those.
I have a G15 keyboard, with the 18 G-Keys on the left side.
I try to utilize those in my configuration too.
My mouse is a G600, which has two normal mouse buttons on top.
And extra mouse button for the ring finger, on top.
A scroll wheel, which has tilt left/right as a feature.
And twelve G-buttons on the thumb.
I like to use those too, if possible.
At the moment... I have Assist and Follow on the G600.
My G15...
G1 is an opener/pull key.
G7/G8/G9 are Pet Attack keys.
Beneath those are G10/G11/G12 for Pet Queue Attack (the next target the pet goes after).
My G13-G18 are swaps to that region, so I can switch to any toon.
I'd like to put important things onto the mouse thumb buttons... as they're easy to reach.
Just need to decide what to put and where.
Muscle memory comes fairly quickly.
