Toon does not interact with target (WoW)

Hi, I am still pretty new to ISBoxer, but everything works fine, exept one thing.

I am sure, its just a little thing, but I just can`t figure it out. Its more of a wow problem than a ISBoxer problem.

I have created a new team with 5 chars. 4 are on the same Bnet (2 druids, 2 ele-shaman) and one is on a differen Bnet (hunter). I have set a Keybind to "Face Toward Target" and it works on all chars, exept the hunter. The hunter just targets the target, but does not turn or start attacking (Interact with keybind ist set to the same button on all chars)

Than I tried the "Interact with Target" Keymap. Same here. All toons walk to the target, start attacking exept the hunter.

Than I moved all chars directly next to the target, pressed the key and all chars attack including the hunter! So the problem is, the hunter basically interacts with the target, but does not move. I have already tried to reset all Keybinds to default on the hunter and remapped the interact button but nothing seems to help.

Than I tried the same thing with a target very far away. All Toons walk to the target, including the hunter. But the hunter stopps at max range and attacks.

This means it basically works, but only if the target is farer away than max range.
Any Ideas for this?

Re: Toon does not interact with target (WoW)

The Face Target uses the same process as Interact With Target in ISBoxer, the difference is that the Face Target interrupts any movement. You can see what actions they are running by inspecting the mapped keys.
Underneath both are using the WoW method Interact With Target, so if the Interact With Target is working for the hunter, then its working as expected.
Ranged characters will generally only run towards targets when using the ISboxer mapped key Interact With Target if they are out of range for the default interaction with that kind of target. You can test this with a quest NPC. Your hunter should move directly to them, because the default interaction will be to talk. A mob, the default interaction is attack, so you only need to get into range to attack for the current primary attack.

The actual movement is managed by the WoW Click To Move, which is turned on initially when you press the hotkey down, and then turned off when you let it go again. If you hold down your hotkey for the ISBoxer Interact With Target (or Face Target), the hunter might move closer.

Beyond my rambings, you'll need someone with actual experience.....

That is exactly what i thought. The problem is, i cannot face an enemy target, in a dungeon or elsewhere, if it is within the huge range of my hunter. Because if it is within and I use the face target keymap, it won`t turn, eaven if it is completely facing away from the enemy. In the result, it won`t be able to shoot at the enemy.

Welcome to the difficulties of multiboxing. Despite many peoples opinions, it is not a panacea of trouncing your way through the content, but rather a series of new challenges to try and test your patience, and for you to find creative methods to overcome.

As to your problem, you may be able to use the Follow Me command so your hunter is following your main (and presumably facing the correct way, and then using a Stop command (i.e. something that breaks follow, like broadcasting S/DownArrow) to the appropriate toons (I use CTRL+S as the hotkey to send S to all toons). Of course you need to do then when not in combat for it to work. Combat usually breaks follow itself, so this would be more of an initial positioning method.

Re: Toon does not interact with target (WoW)

Yes, that actually is, what is causing the problem. When I am doing a dungeon and the bossmechanic forces me to move my toons, to get out of fire, I have set up 2 follow Keymaps. One makes my ranges folle me (I am the healer) and one makes my tank follow me. Once, they are at a safe spot, I press my face target keymap to make them look at the boss.... sadly my hunter doesn`t want to.

This seems to be a hunter problem, most other classes including casters start a auto attack when they interact with a enemy.

The tooltip says "Auto Attack"- Automatically attacks a target in melee with an equipped weapon. So they walk into melee range first.
But the hunter just walks into max attack range and seems to do "Auto Shot" Automatically shoots the target undtill cancelled. 40yd range. Maybe that is because hunters seem to be the only class that can not hit an enemy with their equipped weapon by smashing it onto them.

I found a little workaround that might help others, but it is not really what I was looking for.

If I choose the talent "Barrage" the cast will automatically turn the hunter towards the enemy. It has a 20 sec cooldown and will pull everything within 40 yards, becasue the hunter will shoot around like crazy while doing a 180° turn.
