I know this is here but I'm lost, Rotations

I'm a week or so in to Isboxer and I'm having a great time. I've been using autoassist but now I want to start playing with Rotations. I'm not sure how to tell these keys to autoassist so nothing happens because there is no target other than my main character, unless I separately hit my interact with target key. Is there a way to have it auto assist and renew it regularly to combat the problem of characters running away? and of course getting them to fight.

What is the best way to keep my ranged characters at range and facing the target?

Thank you, this product is amazing.

It probably is around, but I couldn't find what I wanted to direct you to either (well not for the simple setup).
I do recommend you try and move away from "auto assist" setups. When you get into more difficult activities in game, then you will get to a point where you do not want all you toons assisting you all the time... especially when you healer should be keeping you alive, rather than targeting the mob which is beating you into a pulp.

Basically, the easiest simple option out there is to have 2 mapped keys.

First mapped key takes your hotkey, has a single step
Step 1
- Do Mapped Key Action, Non-Combat -> Assist Me on Window:Current
- Do Mapped Key Action, Combat -> My Rotation on Window:Current

Second Mapped Key is Combat -> My Rotation, has one step per item in the rotation
Step 1
- Keystroke Action (or some other action to send to game), Target: atg OR Window: all w/ Current OR something else.
Step 2
- Keystroke Action (or some other action to send to game), Target: atg OR Window: all w/ Current OR something else.
Step 3
- Keystroke Action (or some other action to send to game), Target: atg OR Window: all w/ Current OR something else.
....... and so on.

The down side, is once you start to get into rotations then you need to configure mapped keys manually. This isn't really hard or anything. You select the Key Map (usually Combat or Non-Combat) in the top left, in the lower left, you right click Mapped Keys, and select New Mapped Key, give it a name, assign it a hotkey if needed, select the Step 1 in the lower left, and then in the lower right, Right click Actions, select the type of Action you want. Then set the properties of that Action.

Don't hit follow, or use Jamba Follow Strobe
Don't use IWT while in combat, use Assist instead
Don't let the target move (this will be tricky - Face is basically a result of IWT, which makes your characters move).

The long version is: this is one of the difficulties of the play style and something that you need to devise strategies for, but they are usually fairly basic. You have to work within the game mechanics, and the fact that you have a bunch of blind, stupid morons following you around and wildly waving their arms, and usually when you really want to be stealthily hiding behind a rock. Controlling multiboxing teams is not easy, and funnily enough, despite the detractors, it is not a panacea to death and destruction.
