Keymap steps and deactivation..

Do the steps reset to 1 in a keymap when the keymap is turned on and off?

I have three scenarios I want my warrior in for rotations.

1. Single target.
2. AoE.
3. Survival.

Each rotation changes priorities so these aren't all in the same map. Single Target ( ST ) and AoE are on the same key in steps 1 and 2 respectively. When I toggle the ST / AoE keymap it just moves the step ahead once.

When I want him to go survival mode I toggle that which turns off the ST / AoE map and turns on the SV map. Then when I switch back to DPS either through the 10 second timer or forced. The thinking here was that isboxer has no way of knowing what state that map key was in before survival mode activated. I was hoping that it would retain the current step through the deactivate / activate process but it did not.

Based on what I'm trying to do here what do you think is the best method? Thanks!

Re: Keymap steps and deactivation..

You are correct that when you disable a key map or mapped key, then upon reactivation it will start at it's initial step.

If you want it to be at the current step, then you are probably better off having a middle-man mapped key that you can then disable.

e.g.
Hotkey 1 runs Mapped Key - TopDog.
TopDog has a Do Mapped Key action for Middleman
Middleman has a Do Mapped Key for Single Target.

Now when you disable Middleman, it does not change the Step that Single Target is on :).

You could get even fancier (well, use the Pro-Config basically), and use virtualisation, so that Middleman doesn't actually call anything at all, but instead you have a toggle which runs a Mapped Key Virtualization Action, which says Mapped Key - Middleman is now Mapped Key - Single Target, and then when you toggle, the virtualization can be changed to Mapped Key - Middleman is now Mapped Key - Survival. You could do this anyway without the full fledged pro setup. It is the same thing just on a smaller scale.

Most of this concept is explained in MiRai's videos and a few posts on the forum.

Re: Keymap steps and deactivation..

Ehrm, I think I should just put all ST / AE / SV on the same masterkey and be done with it. That way I can just turn one or all of them off whenever I feel like it.

Thanks for the reply!
