Crowd Control with FTL

I'm currently using FTL setup with no problems. Now im doing harder instances but crowd control is a problem.

is it possible to target several mobs at one time and cast CC on them like in non FTL setup?

Im running 1 pally and 4 druids. Im trying to root 2-3 mobs at once. Is it possible using FTL?

Thanks alot.

Re: Crowd Control with FTL

You just need to have it mapped (or not mapped) so that you aren't auto-assisting and casting with all of your guys at once.

There's a few different ways people like to do crowd control. One is to pre-target the mobs with your characters, and set the /focus target. Then you make your CC macro like
/cast [target=focus] MyCCSpell
And then it doesn't matter if you leave that key auto-assisting and broadcasting, because the spell itself will only cast on each guy's focus target.

You can also do a round-robin style and let it use the FTL targeting. With this method, you target a mob with your main and then press your round-robin CC hotkey, and one of your CC-capable guys will cast his spell on your target. Ualaa's ISBoxer guide has examples of how to do Round-Robin -- http://isboxer.com/index.php/component/ ... oxer-guide scroll down to part "6 Keymaps" and it's "Example E - How to Stagger Tremors (or anything else)". In a nutshell, the hotkeys generated by the wizard are single-step and configured to send the key to everyone, and to round-robin you make it multi-step, and configure it to send the key to one character at a time.

Re: Crowd Control with FTL

do i need to turn off FTL modifiers for that keymap ? Its set to default.

i used to use focus based targetting before. i was reading and some guide said you cant use focus based targetting while using FTL.

ill try what you said, hopefully i got no probs.

Re: Crowd Control with FTL

no luck

i created a wow macro with "/focus target" but my toon does nothing.

i remember when i used to use focus based it would target the mob, but now he does nothing.

not sure if i need to disable or enable something before i can use focus targetting.

for round robin. how do i make it cast CC spell on certain mobs?

One of the reasons people like FTL over focus-based is because it opens up Focus for whatever you want to use it for -- crowd control being the biggest one.

It's just
Code:
/focus

This sets your Focus Target (client-side) to whatever you currently have targeted. So you would target something, make your guys assist, then have one /focus it

for round robin. how do i make it cast CC spell on certain mobs?

If you want to do round-robin with FTL, you target the mob with your main, then press the round robin hotkey. Your guys would all assist, but only one of your guys would cast the spell at a time.

Re: Crowd Control with FTL

for round robin, id have to manually target a mob each time?

What I want to do is target several mobs then click 1 key and itll CC those mobs.

ill try your first step and see if it works.

Re: Crowd Control with FTL

hmm still no dice.

i created 3 keymaps for 3 druids

i set /focus in each wow keymap to target several mobs

so im doign is for example is:

1) Select a mob. hit Alt-backspace to setup Assist
2) Hit Ctrl-F10 to /focus on my first toon
3) Repeat step 1+2 for 2nd and 3rd toon

is this right?

im using Xperl addon and it would tell me if my guys are targetting someone. Nothing changes target wise.
