What's the proper way to reset a virtualized mapped key?

I set up a virtualized mapped key as in this link:
http://isboxer.com/wiki/Mapped_Key_Virtualization_Action

Here is my virtualized mapped key:

I have a Click Bar I use to activate this and it works fine. It does the group heal instead of single.

So what is the proper way to then reset this back to the default heal? I added "Step 2" to the mapped key and did another virtualization:

I thought this would change it back to its original form after using the click bar again to advance it to step 2. I have a pop up text on step 2 just so I know it got it and that pops up fine. But then when I try to click the original heal, it crashes my game client every time and I get a message about sending ISBOXER what I was doing when it crashed.

I'm guessing the "virtualizing" an already "virtualized" mapped key is somehow confusing the system. So again, what's the actual/proper way to reset a virtualized mapped key?

Select the "Do the Original Mapped Key" radio button. It will read as:

SubAlwaysHeal in Pri123 Key Map is now SubAlwaysHeal in Pri123 Key Map.

Re: What's the proper way to reset a virtualized mapped key?

Ah, thank you for rescuing me Firescue!

I actually did see and try that option - but I was doing it incorrectly - I did it for the virtualized key instead of the original one which didn't work. In other words I was doing it in the second screenshot in my OP which wasn't really doing anything.

I think I understand this a lot better now. My problem was I was thinking more in terms of "toggles" instead of "virtualizing". So with the virtualized mapped key I was thinking it "disabled" or turned off map key 1 and put map key 2 in it's place. Therefore I thought I needed to do that second step which re-enabled map key 1.

But instead, with the virtualizing, map key 1 was still there and activating each time. So this is what I was essentially setting up:

Step 1 > Map key 1 is now Map Key 2
Step 2 > Map key 2 is now Map key 1

That's why Step 1 worked as intended. But whenever step 2 was activated, map key 2 went back and did map key 1 which activated #2 which did#1, etc, etc, etc. I was inadvertently causing a loop which is why ISboxer and my game client was crashing.

Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction. Now that I got my head wrapped around this is seems so simple!

Lol, I've turned my profile inside out many times.

What game is this for? I'm curious what you're doing for my own profile purposes.

EverQuest2, the newer, better version of that game you're always playing.

j/k :)

Actually what I'm doing isn't related to a single vs group heal. That was just an easier mapped key to put in the screenshot for this post. The one I was testing was named all weird and would've been confusing. At any rate, I have a mapped key that sends a keystroke to each of my 4 game clients that activates the DPS macro on my hotbar. I assume EQ1 is like EQ2 where you can just put all your combat spells in one macro and fire them off two at a time? Anyway, I've then got a hotkey in that mapped key that I've got my mouse configured to activate. So when I'm fighting I'm just spam clicking that key on my mouse, and all my toons are firing off the DPS spells in the macro key on their hotbar.

The problem I ran into was on some tougher fights, I would need to cast an emergency heal or something, but my healer was in the middle of casting DPS spells. I didn't want to reconfigure my whole setup and was looking for a lazy way to rework this, which is when I found virtualizing.

The way I now have it correctly working (tks btw), is a separate mapped key that I activate via a clickbar that virtualizes the mapped key that sends the keystroke to all windows. Instead it does a different mapped key to send the same keystroke to an ATG that has everyone but the healer in it. So the healer just stands there autoattacking and is 100% available and ready to cast heals or cures or whatever else. Then when I'm back to easier fights or trash mobs, another single clickbar click and healer is doing dps wannabe stuff again.

Hope that is clear enough. There may be a better way to accomplish that, but that seems to be working fine and I'll just leave well enough alone for now. 8-) Thanks again for the help.
