WoW: Reset Key Map steps after changing target

Hey guys,

I have been using ISBoxer for almost a week, I just can say this program is amazing with LOADS of options, but also lots to learn.

I am multiboxing on World of Warcraft, and trying to create the keymaps based on the "like a PRO" style, and was working on a dps rotation trying to simulate cast sequences using steps. The idea is that the Spam key will call a Do Mapped key, and inside there will call several game macros. Like this:

Code:
Spam Key
Do Mapped Key A
Do Mapped Key B

Mapped Key A
Step 1: Send Keybind for curse of agony
Step 2: Do Not Advance for 24 Seconds.

Mapped Key B
Step 1: Send Keybind for corruption
Step 2: Do Not Advance for 12 Seconds.

This seems functional and could work on lets say a boss fight where the target is the same for quite long, but I what I am trying to do is that when the leader target changes (ie. trash), they reset to the step 1.

I would like if someone could point to any solutions or ideas of how to do that.

Thank you!

Re: WoW: Reset Key Map steps after changing target

ISBoxer has no knowledge of the game state, so it cannot change anything in response to game state changes. This is necessary to remain EULA-safe.

Therefore, you must either use a cast sequence (or some other feature within the game), or initiate the change by pushing a button, using a Mapped Key Step Action :)

Re: WoW: Reset Key Map steps after changing target

Thank you for the prompt answer!

Yes I was aware of not using anything that could break EULA.

I was thinking maybe in associate the "left Click" event into something as you say of the key state.
Because usually when I click is either to select a enemy target which will be ok to reset steps, or interacting with quests friends etc, which either way does not harm to reset steps neither.

As well could make a copy of this "event" to the tab key, also used to change target. Do you think could be possible to do that without "break" what the actual tab or left click already does?

Thanks again :)

I use a similar method of stacking dps in a specific sequence. I tied the step sequence resets into my /assist key. Every time my boxed characters /assist their particular dps chain is reset to step one. In this manner it doesn't matter if the new target is acquired via mouse clicking or tab targeting.

hmm interesting point on that. Can be an alternative of what I was thinking if it end up not working.

Yesterday I was spending so much time getting my rotations done (which are not perfect now, since It sometimes misses some spells to cast) that I could not work more on this, but I think that a key map that when i push tab it will send tab again so i dont lose functionality and right after reset all the dps'rs steps

Re: WoW: Reset Key Map steps after changing target

IS Boxer doesn't know if something fired off or not.
If it was resisted or landed.

It does know what the hotkey is, and what the correct output is going to be based on your input.

You could modify your first step, to not advance to the second step for a given time.
And to not check, only execute once.
That means, on each press of the key, for that window of time, your Curse of Agony would attempt to fire off.
That could account for another ability blocking its' firing off because your are GCD locked.

However, that makes the overall system a little harder to design.
Because the Agony might be attempting to fire off a second time, which prevents the Corruption from firing off for that window of time.

Depending on how manual you want to go, you can create additional mapped keys to help.

Go with your default/current model.
But create a "reset" mapped key for each of your DOT spells.
This could be triggered via the hotkey or turned into a Clickbar which is then activated by clicking upon the image or a screen area you choose.
The reset mapped key, would change the step that your DPS key is on, from Step 2 (do not advance (to step 1) until DOT timer has expired) to Step 1 so the ability could immediately fire off in response to your DPS spam.
In theory, you spam your key and often your application of dots is fine, but when it isn't you'd use your hotkey or click your clickbar to allow your spam to apply the correct dot.
