Strange limitation or bug?

I use the following Key for questing:
Code:
<Target Slot {SLOT}> -> all other
<Assist Target> -> all other
Video FX: 'somename' -> all
H -> all

This KeyMap is actually working, assisting the active Toon and hailing his target to start a coversation with any NPC. Also a Video FX gets loaded so i can see all conversations on one Screen.

Now if i want to add a mouserepeater to this KeyMap it gets funky. Want to add the following line:

Code:
Repeater mouse On -> self

Goal: being able to save time and not click every Dialog on my own.
Problem: If i put the repeater on the last line it does not start, at all. Just like it wasn't there.

Things i tried:
putting repeaterline ahead: the "H -> all" line gets ignored then, the repeater works tho
putting repeaterline in Step 2 and trigger it by pressing the KeyMap twice: Same result, just like it wasn't there.
deleting the "H-> all" line: repeater starting just fine
deleting the repeater: the H gets send just fine
putting either of the two in differend KeyMaps: working as it should,... but needing two keystrokes of differend keys.

This is of corse not THAT big of an issue, but quite annoying, because i keep thinking i must be missing something obvious. Why would these two lines hate each other and insist on not being in a keymap together?

Re: Strange limitation or bug?

I reproduced the Mapped Key you described (as close as I could given I'm not sure exactly what you are doing with Video FX). I did not get the behaviour you described. Mine works as you intend yours to work, i.e. targets, assists, hails, shows a bunch of Video FX viewers and turns on mouse repeat.

At this point I'd share your configuration for troubleshooting purposes.

Re: Strange limitation or bug?

Sorry for replying so late, got the flu and did not manage to get up and turn on the PC over the last days :(

Here is my current profile: click me

I got quite alot of teams running and the file is pretty large i guess. I removed the Mouserepeater due to it not working for me. Reentered it for one (Duo-)team, so you can check it out tho. You can find it on the Keymap: "Special Disci - Bard", the Key is then named "Dialog Open - Close". The usecase for the Video FX is simple to show the Questdialogs of my other toon in the duo. Since i am playing both toons activly sometimes i got it set to show on both, as i never know in advance which toon will be active when i turn in a quest or go get a quest :-) (love this variable keystroke stuff, really).

If it works for you that is great news. Then i might just still be missing something that interfers with my desired result. I just can not seem to find it tho :(

edit: updated the profile, forgot to actually add the "problem" back in before copying to privatepaste... done now.

Re: Strange limitation or bug?

I'm not sure why it works for me but not for you. Things that you have set up differently to me are:

1) I don't load a Video FX set, instead I just show some Video FX viewers that already exist. Those viewers get set up when the Character Set is loaded.
2) I use unmodified H for hail, not Ctrl+Alt+H.
3) I didn't include a Repeater Target action in that Mapped Key. I just relied on it using the same Repeater Target that already exists.

All I can suggest at this point is changing some of those things.

Re: Strange limitation or bug?

regarding
1) So you activate your Video FX on startup and let it run the whole time? Only hidden? I was under the impression that was bad for performance, so i load and destroy the Video FX as needed.
2) I actually had H as my hail before, switched it because of funky behavior while chatting (other toons then hail whenever i write a word with h and the h send via mapped key is slightly slower then me typing, So id get words like "tihs" instead of "this")
3) I did not have that repeater Target before, copy pasted from the default "Activate Mouse Repeater" and forgot to delete that line. Did not change anything anyways in this case ;-)

Will try to alter all 3 points to match your approach tho to make sure.

Thanks!

I'll take #2...

Most people disable their Key Maps (SHIFT + ALT + M) when they want to talk to someone but... If you change your Mapped Keys to execute on 'pressed" rather than "released" then this would fix your H key typing "slow"; but if you had turned off Key Maps before typing to begin with, then you would not have experienced the slower typing behavior.

Re: Strange limitation or bug?

Good point. Guess i just want to hit as few keys as possible, and turning off keymaps is a keypress! ;-)
