Saitek Cyborg

I have a Saitek Cyborg keyboard. http://www.saitek.com/uk/prod/cykey.htm

Can I use the 12 side keys for hotkeys in ISboxer? I can't seem to get it to accept them as a hotkey.

Re: Saitek Cyborg

ISBoxer unfortunately cannot detect anything in the "press any key here" box except for normal keyboard and mouse buttons, you would need to manually select the buttons from the drop-down box. They will not be listed by default, but based on my experience with the Saitek Command Pad, I would assume the Cyborg's buttons CAN work if configured right.

There's a file called InputDevices.XML in your Inner Space folder. If you open it in Notepad, you should find a section in it that says something about your Saitek Cyborg, and it should have a list of buttons like "Button 1" through 12, possibly more depending on the device's firmware. If you close Inner Space and ISBoxer, you can change the names to something like "CYBORG-1" through "CYBORG-12" and save it. Then when you launch ISBoxer again, those names should show up in the drop-down box in any Hotkey Picker window, and should hopefully work. If the Saitek software (or the hardware's defaults) has the buttons configured to do anything, it may end up doing both, so you would want to unassign the buttons.

Alternatively, you can probably run the Saitek software as Administrator and configure the buttons to press things like ctrl+shift+alt+o, which ISBoxer should then detect in the "press any key here" box.

Let me know if this helps, I haven't heard from anyone that uses that particular keyboard yet

Re: Saitek Cyborg

I have the Razer Tarantula and I did just that Lax.

I have 10 extra buttons on the left and right. L1 - L5 and R1 - R5. I set them for complex keystrokes (control+Alt+Shift+Num-), so that I could hit just one button, rather than hitting all four keys.

That's our best bet, honestly. Use the software for programming the keyboard provided by the manufacturer and setup the multi-key keystrokes to the macro keys.

edit - spelling

Re: Saitek Cyborg

thanks lax. I looked in the file but there are just too many keys and I'd just be playing a guessing game. I may test a few and see if I can find them but I'll probably end up doing like you said and map the buttons to fancy key combos.
