Keymap not functioning as expected.

I'm working on setting up ISBoxer for everquest and getting some behavior from keymaps that is not what I would have expected.

http://www.privatepaste.com/0890446686

For the moment the mapped key I've singled out to work on is the one that starts on line 2788 in the pasted config. This keymap is exclusive to the character in Slot3. However this behavior persists across all keymaps at this time.

Hotykey: Ctrl+Shift+Alt+1 should execute "1" in game (and it does when focused on Slot3)

The layout is as follows:

Slot3 - Slot1 - Slot2

I've tried setting the target to Window:Current, when focused on Slot1 and Slot2 nothing happens, Slot3 works as it should.
I've tried setting the target to Character Slot:3 with the same behavior as above.
I've tried setting the target to the other Character: setting with no change as well.

Also between each and every iteration of change I have made sure to save, re-export, and confirm the configuration reloaded message within the game client between attempts to trigger this mapped key.

Slot3 is assigned to the keymap and is the only slot assigned to this keymap.

The desired behavior:

From Slot1 be able to trigger hotbar abilities by way of mapped keys in Slot2 and Slot3 without moving focus to the other two slots.

Surely I'm just overlooking something plainly obvious and overthinking this, any guidance is appreciated.

Re: Keymap not functioning as expected.

You are trying to set up the Pro Config, but you are setting it up in a non pro fashion.

The method you have chosen is to put a hotkey on the mapped key in Mage -> DPS Rotation.
When you trigger the hotkey CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+1, it will run the mapped key that the hotkey is on, as this mapped key is in the Mage key map, and that key map is only assigned to Vampia, then it will only trigger when Vampia is the active toon, because she is the only toon that has this key map loaded. If the key map was assigned to the Character Set, or the other characters, then it would trigger for them too, and it would send the key 1 to slot 3 as configured.

Under the Pro Config which is what your configuration is based on, the class key maps (Monk, Shaman, Mage) should not have any hotkeys on them at all (you may end up with an exception, but try and avoid it because it is no longer virtualised, which is the whole point of the Pro System). The Hotkeys should be configured in the Combat Hotkeys key maps. From there the virtualisation takes over.

You should be pressing the Hotkey for Combat Hotkeys -> DPS rotation. This will then call the Do Mapped Key DPS Rotation in Virtual Combat on All toons. Each toon has a Virtualisation configured which says, "if a mapped key runs in the Virtual Combat key map, run a mapped key from my replacement key map instead". In the case of Vampia, this is the Mage key map. The virtualisation figures that instead of running Virtual Combat -> DPS Rotation, it would run Mage -> DPS Rotation. This would then press the 1 key and send to slot 3. Although under the pro config, the target in the Class key maps is usually self (Window: Current).

MiRai goes through a lot of how this all works in his series of Pro-Config videos, starting with this one. The follow on ones are in the comments of the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cONmD2E69nA

Re: Keymap not functioning as expected.

That's exactly the kick in the pants I needed bob, thank you!

Got that little road block all figured out and resolved and working exactly as I'd like, now to tackle one more known obstacle and then begin learning more as time goes on.
