Quick modifier question

I use bartender and have it set to modifier based switching so that my main bar changes to a different bar when I hold either shift, ctrl, or alt. This way I get 4 bars in the space of one.

I want to make it so that when I hold each of the keys it broadcasts that key and switches the bar on the slave client as well. I'm new and can't quite figure it out or find it on the internet.

For example the non-modified action bar on both characters has spell1 in slot1, and the shift-modified has spell2 in slot1.
When I hold shift and press 1 my main character casts spell2, but my slave character casts spell1.

I basically just want it to broadcast shift, ctrl, and alt so bartender swaps the bar for me and isboxer broadcasts 1 through = that are set up by default.

Sorry if that sounds confusing, I will try to clarify if you don't understand.

I could probably just set up a bunch of hotkeys and get it to work, but I don't want it to alter my ability to play solo.

Re: Quick modifier question

If you want to expand upon the default 1 through =, then you can use the Mapped Key Wizard to create all the key combinations you'd like. So, in the MK Wizard...

1) Select "Combat"
2) Select "Straight Key Broadcast" or "Assist and Broadcast"
3) Start adding all the key combinations you could possibly use (e.g. Shift+1, Ctrl+1, etc.)

I tried that, it doesn't toggle the bar like I want it to though. I would have to make a hotkey for every single combination on my slave client as well as in isboxer and that's what I said I don't want to do because I don't want to mess up anything for solo play.

Re: Quick modifier question

You may also need to make some broadcast mapped keys for SHIFT, ALT, CTRL, and set them with the Hold Option. I'm not sure how ISB will interpret this though with the "switching" of mapped keys when you press the 1 to = keys as well, or whether it will figure out you are running two mapped keys.

Worth a shot though. YMMV.

I tried making a key map for just shift and set it to hold, but it didn't do anything :(

Creating Mapped Keys with Hotkeys in ISBoxer isn't going to require you to change anything for solo play. During solo play you have a specific set of key bindings, and the only thing you need to do is tell ISBoxer what those are (by using the Mapped Key Wizard steps shown above)—Nothing needs to change in game.

Also, 1, Shift, and Shift+1 are three different key bindings as far as ISBoxer is concerned, so you cannot broadcast Shift by itself and expect the number row to work with it.

The only thing we can do at this point is to take a look at your profile.

Re: Quick modifier question

I figured it out. I needed to make a broadcast for the modifiers by themselves without using the wizard because it won't let you just broadcast shift, ctrl, or alt using the wizard. I set them to hold and that let me see the bars like I want to, but the hotkeys wouldn't broadcast just like that.

Then I went into game and enabled the bars (using bartender) that are normally hidden until the modifier is pressed. I set the keybindings onto them, then disabled them again to hide them. This makes it so everything looks and works the same in game.

Lastly I had to go into ISBoxer and make the broadcast keymaps using the wizard.

Was a bit more work than I wanted, but it works now. 39 keymaps and 36 hotkeys required.
