Scroll wheel

Hello, I am in need of some advice. I keybind all of my hotbar abilities to my mouse using a shift modifier on my other mmo's (WoW and Lotro). Wow lets you do the keybinds thru the factory UI and lotro requires some changes to the keymapping files. I have had no luck with mapping on EQ2, I can get into the keymapping files and try to change some things but I can never save the file. What I want to do is use scroll wheel for casting my spells. Hopefully someone can help me here.

Re: Scroll wheel

Sorry to hijack. I would like to do the same. So I want to know as well. I know we talked about using a different key that wow sees as your button presses, but the scroll wheel does not work at all.

Re: Scroll wheel

The scroll wheel can be used in Hotkeys in ISBoxer, even if the game does not support it. You can then have it pass a different key to the game.

The hotkey auto-detect box does not currently detect when you scroll the wheel, but MouseWheelDown and MouseWheelUp can be selected manually in the drop-down box in any hotkey picker window

Re: Scroll wheel

Sorry to come back to an old post. But I was not able to get this to work.

I have mouse wheel up as the isboxer hot key that sends alt 1 to wow. But nothing happens at all.

Re: Scroll wheel

Have you exported to inner space.
And restarted wow/reloaded the interface, if wow was up and running when you made changes?

Also, is the isboxer addon enabled for all characters?

Re: Scroll wheel

I have to say no to all of those questions. I did change my addon folder cause I am using a new set of addons, and isboxer is not there. And I didn't know you had to reload if you make changes. The wow windows blink when i make changes to isboxer, but I will do that from now on. Will update when i readd addon.

Edited: Wait I always export when i make changes.

Anyways, the addon was added and enabled automatically. I did just make a new character set. Maybe that is why it was readded to the addon list.

Also I deleted the key map, and made a new one based on the keys that do work. And still does not work. This is after a /reloadui and a complete exit and reentry.

What I notice is if I scroll the wheel enough, then it will work. But that is not reliable. I usually use the mouse wheel to apply my dots quickly. So in this instance it is moonfire and insect swarm. Again, it will work if I do it long enough, but it really hinders the reliability of it. The mouse is a Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 5000 model 1058. There are no third party software for it (at least none that I know of, and none I installed).

Re: Scroll wheel

I've found, IS Boxer reliably reads my extra buttons on the mouse.
I use two thumb buttons for wow actions.

One is bound to FTL Follow Me, and that has always worked without issue.
The other used to send itself (ie, mapped key button = trigger, button to all windows = action) to warcraft, but would occasionally need to be spammed.
Once I changed the button to (button = trigger, Shift F7 = action) and bound my stuff to Shift F7, I've not had issues.

I've not used the scroll wheel as a hotkey, so cannot really comment on that specifically.
But in theory it should work, if you do everything that would make another mapped key run fine.

Re: Scroll wheel

I got my two mouse buttons to work the way you mention it by binding it to another key with modifier. It wouldn't work if it was a straight button trigger i.e. button 4 would press button 4 in wow.

Just kinda messes up my playstyle a bit by not having scroll wheel actions. And now having to adjust my keybindings to accommodate this.

Re: Scroll wheel

Pretty sure Lax will comment on it.
Possibly a fresh topic, not sure if you need that or not.

Or ask in the IRC, someone might know.

Re: Scroll wheel

If you want me to look into a mapped key that you say isn't working, then I need your config with it as described (broken). There's a sticky post "How to share your config for better support" with instructions how to show me your config properly
