FTL Target Me Incorrectly Targetting Others (WoW)

Hi there, been using the trial version of ISBoxer for a night now, reading the docs, and generally fiddling with things progressively to see how it works and what I can get going. I have a G13 keyboard which is now mapped out happily with keys that mostly perform attacks. They seem to work, using the FTL Assist and their attacks I get a whole bunch of bad spells flying towards the mobs.

Where I have run into a problem is in trying to get some heals onto my 'tank'. I have 2 healers in the group and 3 capable of throwing a heal. When I press G16-G18 I want those 3 characters to target me and cast a heal on me. Optionally I want them to target my target and heal that char.

The problem is with the config I have they all target different characters depending on which char was the Hot Char at the time I pressed the heal button. I've looked at the config but just can't work it out. Some toons will get all of the targets right, others two, and one only gets 1 right. I did try writing down the key combinations sent for each toon and trying the targetting by hand, but pressing ALT-] and RSHFT-] seemed to work.

I have them up to level 8 now, and want to take the little buggers in RFC and basically level them all by crawling through endless dungeons - so I really need a healing system that will work well for 5 man setups.

Thanks in advance.

I would need to see your configuration to say for sure, but it sounds like your Do Mapped Key Action for FTL Target Me might have the wrong Target set -- it should be "Window:Current"

As far as a recommended solution for healing, with ISBoxer everyone likes to use an actual healer addon with click casting (e.g. Healbot, Vuhdo, or Grid with Clique), with a Repeater Region over it to send the mouse to the desired healer(s).

These guides might help, the first one is written and the second link is a video

Thanks for the fast reply, I'll check out your recommendations. I actually went to the trouble of pasting my config to the web and forgot to then put it in my post. Here's http://pastebin.com/52q2q5F2.

Not sure if this is related, but I read http://isboxer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=406 and applied the upgrade. After checking pressing the keys manually to select each char they are all over the place. I'll get back to you.

EDIT: The change to the keys seems to work. It now casts the spell on whatever I am targetting, and the 3 in my group all target the Hot char. This will keep me going till I can get grid healing sorted, thanks!

Re: FTL Target Me Incorrectly Targetting Others (WoW)

Click healing is definitely the way to go I believe.

You define a region of the screen (a repeater region) whose mouse movements are sent to your dedicated healer and then use a healer add on (personally I prefer Vuhdo), taking care to make sure the addon sits in the same position on the screen of both characters.

The region can be defined and synched (ensuring the regions themselves match on all the toons) in-game, indeed the only keymap you'd need would be one for turning the region on and off (if you want one).

Works like a charm.

Re: FTL Target Me Incorrectly Targetting Others (WoW)

I've followed the advice and installed Clique along with Grid2, defined a repeated region on screen for the Grid layout and set some click combinations for my healer. It seems to work pretty well, and I've literally healed all the instances up to lvl 28 using nothing more than Renew and Flash Heal (left and right click), with the very ocassional movement of my hand from the G13 to shift click a Powerword Shiel or Heal. I ctrl-click if I want to select the toon or ctrl-right-click if I want the content menu. It flows pretty well, but does make me wish I had just one or two more reliably usable mouse buttons :D Now my little priest just totters along behind me in instances like a pocket healer - I get to play a powerful mage, and level a priest at the same time ^^
