Crowd Control with target marking?

I'm a newb sorry if its been answered but the googles havent returned any results written in english (at least english not assuming you understand what they are fully saying already)

Question: How do I or what is the best way to achieve this... Use 2 keys to set focus to my target and set raid marker based on who has a target focused. Then second keypress broadcasts /cast (@focus) CCSpellhere.

So I think I understand the second keypress easily enough just add a local macro for each character with appropriate spell.

The challenge I am having is the first step.
So lets say I have two mages
From control screen I select a target - press a button and the other mage sets target as focus and puts on raid marker moon if he is mage 1 and a star if he is mage 2. Mage 1 is always moon and mage 2 is always star but mage 1 may not be first and mage 2 may not be first.

Ok so how do I proceed? Do I need to copy the built in wow macros and edit them first or?

Re: Crowd Control with target marking?

You can assign a target marker to an NPC, but not to a hostile player.

I forget the syntax for the target marking, but you can google for that.

Essentially, you would want a mapped key.
It has a hot key to activate.

You might want it to reset to the first step, after "x" or more seconds from the most recent press.
That way, when you're in an instance and there are multiple things to CC, you select a target and press it, then the next target and press it again... but next pull, it has reset.

To ensure you get the correct target (to account for game latency), you might want to go with multiple steps for each CC target.
With an "execute a step on press or release" selected.
With two CC toons, you would then have four steps (two steps for each CC target).
Step 1 - FTL Assist me
Step 2 - Have CC #1 Focus that target (and apply the raid marker).
Step 3 - FTL Assist me
Step 4 - Have CC #2 Focus that target (and apply the raid marker).
In practice you would press and hold the key for a second or so, and then release (hold longer than your latency).
That way, you're sure which toon has a given target focused.

Then have a different mapped key for the CC effect.
Whether you make a Named Macro Action or send a Keybind to the game, which runs an in-game macro...
The effect will be something like:
/cast [@focus,exists,harm] Polymorph (or Banish, or Shackle Undead, etc).
If you have a focus set, it will attempt to cast the CC, but without a focus nothing happens on that press.

You might want another macro to clearfocus on everyone.
