About Multiboxing: if you're doing it yourself without the use of 3rd party programs/bots/macros, it's allowed.
One keypress for multiple characters is not allowed.

Re: WildStar
This really ruined my day.. i was so looking forward to boxing this game. I paid for 5 delux editions because i had not heard anything against it. There was a post in the german forums that seemed to state that it was ok to use software. BUT now that i read it again it could be interpreted just as the video states... they are ok with multiboxing as long as you do with hardware and manually press keys on separate keyboards.. thats just stupid! that works in slow paced games like EQ1 but not in fast paced games like WoW or Wildstar.
Re: WildStar
/sigh
It sounds like he doesn't really know because...
1) He starts off by saying he "hasn't read the CS policy on it recently" which could only mean he doesn't actually have the answer and the answer lies with an other department.
2) He's unsure of how key replication software even violates the TOS @ 37:30 -- But he's certain that they don't like it. -_-
Here's my issue...
1) If it's against the TOS because "third party software hurr durr" well I think we've poked holes in that plenty of times in the past because there are numerous pieces of "third party software" required to play the f'ing game -- Uneducated developer response number one.
2) It just seems to be that they're out to get software and not hardware, even though hardware can do the same thing -- Uneducated developer response number two.
3) Again, multiboxing is either allowed or it isn't. This is the same confusing response we just heard from Trion Worlds about ArcheAge -- Uneducated developer responses all around.
The guy in the video does seem to stress that one key press going to multiple clients is the major issue, so.... Why not create multiple steps in ISBoxer to get around that? I'm not condoning that you purposely go against what has been said in that stream footage about no multiboxing via software, but you could easily play two to three characters and make it look like you're using multiple input devices.
However, the first thing I would do is attempt to heavily probe the customer service department looking for an actual answer about multiboxing and/or key replication software from someone who has the authority to answer such a question. I'd point them toward the German CS response we had weeks ago and then go from there.

Re: WildStar
Hmm... I bought two deluxe editions to start out a duo team. Hopefully, he doesn't know what he's talking about.
Re: WildStar
I put in a ticket. I thought the same thing when i listen to his comments.. that he sounded unsure.. but what was clear, at the very least, is that one of the head devs does not like multiboxing. But im for sure not going to 5 box unless i get somthing in writing from CS. But like you suggested.. i will try two or 3 accounts with steps and see what happens. 2 accounts will be hard for the average player to tell. The more toons you have on follow.. the easier people notice I think. If i do 3 i will have a train and not stacked toons on follow. lol

Hi Travis,
Playing with more than one account at a time is allowed as long as you are individually controlling each account. However, if you plan to use a program to control each account simultaneously, with a single set of controls, then this is considered botting and would not be allowed.
Some players only consider the second definition as Multiboxing and if that is the case then Multiboxing would not be allowed. If you consider the broader definition, then there are some forms of Multiboxing that are allowed. It is the automating of gameplay that is against the rules.

Re: WildStar
So a single set of controls... would be like pressing '1' once and having each account do a single action from that one input.
Under that definition...
You could likely three box the game fine.
With an action on press of the key to one character, another action on release of the same key to a different character.
And a third character purely for healing.
If you don't mind spamming the key (which many of us used for Click Castsequences in the Wrath of the Lich King and Cataclysm eras of WoW), you could go with more than that.
I was spamming at 3.5 to 4.0 clicks per second, and had to adjust the commas in my click castsequence based on that.
Even if you didn't use Up/Down actions, and went with independent presses of the key, at my spam speed at least 3 DPS type characters would get actions each second.
You could even go with hot key = 1, outputs to game clients:
Step 1 > Client A > 1
Step 2 > Clent B > 2
Step 3 > Client C > 3
So spamming the same key (your hot key) results in different inputs to different clients.
I wonder what their response would be to Kromtor's video with the dowels connecting keyboards.
I'd think, without technically violating their ToS (as given via the email in the previous post), you could box the game.
That said, you'd be going against the spirit of the ToS, as it strongly implies hardware boxing (different inputs, per character) is fine but that software boxing is not... so there's a decent chance of their taking account action against you in the future, if you went with this approach.

At first I was going to disagree with you, but technically - at least from what this guy said, you might be right. Basically round robin every keystroke. You aren't controlling each account simultaneously. 1 keystroke = 1 action on 1 account.
Re: WildStar
Ualaa, I actually had exactly the same idea last night!
As I normally only two box I would just set round robin on my dps keys. It isn't too much trouble to hit each key twice.
