Re: Vanguard Saga of Heroes problems

I'm on Windows 8.

Thanks for the diagnostics. Someone else should be along to look at that soon. I'm not up-to-date on what conflicts and what doesn't these days. In the meantime, I would suggest making sure your video drivers are up-to-date as I remember something about that fixing some issues for people with NVIDIA CoProcManager. Don't use the drivers provided by Windows, you need to download them from NVidia.

Re: Vanguard Saga of Heroes problems

It's most likely the Intel integrated graphics that is interfering:

Code:
22. igfxpers - Process ID: 152
23. igfxsrvc - Process ID: 4824

Without the game running, in the nVidia Control Panel navigate to Manage 3D Settings, Program Settings tab, select Vanguard (or add the game's exe if it's not in there), change the Power Management Mode to Prefer Maximum Performance, and then apply those changes. If that doesn't change anything, then you may have to adjust your computer's power plan in the Windows Control Panel to the highest preset.

If you've made those changes then we'll need another diagnostic report to show that the Intel integrated graphics are no longer interfering.

Re: Vanguard Saga of Heroes problems

After reviewing the diagnostic i've noticed that the files were still loaded so i've disabled the integrated graphics altogether.

It's still not working.

Interesting that you were able to find a way to disable the Intel graphics. As I understand NVIDIA Optimus / "CoProcManager" the way it works is actually that the hardware-accelerated 3D is processed by the NVIDIA GPU and then passed to the Intel GPU afterward.

I have a Windows 8 laptop with Optimus, I'll have to switch it over to 8.1 and test Vanguard on that

Re: Vanguard Saga of Heroes problems

I'm not using a laptop, i'm using an Alienware X51 desktop i think that the onboard graphics card is part of my processor but i dont think my system is using it so that may be the reason i managed to disable it without having any issues.

Re: Vanguard Saga of Heroes problems

AcLayers is also showing, which could indicate some sort of compatibility flag that's been set on the game's exe. You can right-click on the exe file, go to properties, compatibility tab, and make sure it isn't running in any sort of compatibility mode (the box should be unchecked).

Might as well check InnerSpace.exe and ISBoxer.exe while you're at it as well just in case.
