Re: FFXIV
I have been busy with bugs affecting currently working games, so I haven't had a lot of time to spend on FFXIV yet. I do have the retail game installed for testing, though. Hopefully I'll have it working soon, but I don't have an ETA or anything
Re: FFXIV
If I could run two instances of FFXIV on one machine I'll buy a license. I really don't care about anything but getting two clients running at the same time. Any help at all. I don't care if the software is on the SE banlist. The assholes won't give us retainers so I need an alt I can mule without having to buy a new machine.
Re: FFXIV
You get that versioning error message when the client is looking for the update version in the Users/My Documents/My Games/Square Enix/Final Fantasy XIV etc etc folder. I ran into this when I was dual-boxing on Windows XP.
In XP the work around was to copy that folder to a second user, and open the two instances under separate users. (Open one normally, open one using "Run As..." other user.) However in Windows 7 you get past the version update error and then get another error saying FFXIV is already running, so it seems to be able to detect the first instance of FFXIV in Windows 7 whereas in Windows XP it could not.
I would also get a sub to IS if I could run 2 instances of FFXIV in Windows 7. The system recs aren't very high for it either, Ive been dualboxing for weeks on a Q6600 with a 8800GTS 640MB at stock.
