Diablo 2 Resurrected, launcher issues

Tried following lax's "Diablo 2 Resurrected day 1 support" guide, but I get stuck at step 6.

I can launch the first slot. It successfully launches the first battle.net launcher and I log in, it finds the game and I can start it as well.

Then I exit out and verify that no battle.net process is running.

I try launching the second slot after that. The launcher pops up but the battle.net icon is just spinning and there's no option to log in. Multiple battle.net processes are processing something at that point but no log in button appears (see attached screenshot).

Any ideas?

Inner Space v1.16 (Build 6700)

You may have missed this bit of the day 1 support details.
