Lotro will not launch after login with innnerspace

The LOTRO client will not launch at all after login. The lotroclient.exe will sit in the task manager at ~40% cpu usage and ~5k ram usage, and turbineclientlauncher.exe will sit in there as well at ~8% cpu and ~13k ram usage. I've got it to run once, but then the following clients did the same thing as above. I have windows firewall set to off.

My lotro launcher options are set to:

Allow Muliple Game instances
Allow AkamaiNetsession for the initials downloads
Pre-cache gamelogic

I've tried turning AkamaiNetsession off, and also Pre-cache gamelogic, one by one and all at once.

I tried with and without

-nosplash -disablePatch -skiprawdownload

in the exe parameters of innerspace.

I just dont know why it is not working, I've looked through the forums and this problem seems to be a big one, and I already wasted a whole day of my free trial trying to get this working.

Try the development build of Inner Space, build 6053 (I literally just put this new version up). To do so, right click Inner Space, select Patcher, tick "Download development (test) patches" and then close and restart Inner Space to let it patch up.

I fixed an issue that fits this description that happened constantly on Windows 10, and this issue could be related.

I forgot to say I was on the dev build 6045 (and now 6053) It still doesnt launch. I have tried many times with non dev build 6040 previously and it does the same thing.

Get me a fresh freeze dump with Inner Space build 6053, and I'll check it when I get back from lunch. The one from 6045 looked to be similar to the issue I was referring to, so I'm curious to see the difference with the new build. Thanks

I'm still having the same issues, already 3 days wasted on the trial because it just does not work, and very little help. I just dont get why its not working I have no antivirus running, windows firewall is off, I even tried uninstalling nvidia drivers and going back to older ones with no bloat, then updating to the newest one with no bloat. I reinstalled LOTRO, I killed almost every process I could in the task manager. I have tried nearly everything...

I wouldn't say it's wasted at all. Wouldn't you agree that you'd rather try to figure out why something isn't working during a free trial period than after having paid for it? This is half of what the trial is for..

Secondly, if we don't understand why this is happening on your system and not everyone else's, we have a small sample size and there's not a whole lot we can specifically tell you to try.

It's not obvious from the freeze dump, actually it looks like it's not even frozen, the dump shows it in the middle of a memory copy. So unless it's an issue with your hardware integrity, I'm at a loss as to why it would be stuck there. I would suggest running a memory test -- http://www.memtest86.com/ -- to be sure that it's not something like that, that just happens to be a problem when using Inner Space.

That's just it, it seems to want to start but it gets stuck at 5k ram usage and 40% cpu.

From the brief chat yesterday with Kaische, it is almost like the Process Environment Block (PEB) is not initiating correctly, and the thread (when it gets created), despite reporting normal priority is not getting process time. Kaische left it for an hour and it did get a little further along the PEB init process.


If you use Task Manager and raise the priority of the lotroclient.exe process to "Above Normal" or "High" (do not set Realtime) does it finish the startup? (if it does, please set it back to Normal afterwards).

It occurs to me that I may also need a freeze dump from turbineclientlauncher.exe, assuming that is running at the time lotroclient is frozen
