GPU crash on build 6174

It took me a while to post this because I wanted to make sure that this only happens when running in Innerspace.

It doesn't matter how many sessions, or the grahics setting in Lotro, my GPU will crash when using Innerspace. The computer will still be running but the GPU will no longer be sending anything to the display. Sometimes the crash happens within a few minutes of play- sometimes it might run for an hour.

I've monitored the GPU temperature and it is never a problem.

If I run Lotro in native mode at the highest graphics level, it will run all day with no GPU crashes.

I've made no changes this year to my configuration for Lotro in ISBoxer.

Here's my configuration:
I7-2600K @ 3.40Ghz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570
Windows 7 64 bit
8.00 GB RAM

I would try rolling back to an earlier build of Innerspace but I don't know how to do it.

I am not using development builds.

Thanks

The standard things are going to apply.
Please get a compatibility diagnostic (yep, I know its been working, but stuff updates all the time, including the game which just patched the other day).
Con you confirm when this started?
What resolution are you running at.
A prior version of Inner Space can be found here, although I think this will cause more problems than it is worth as they changed some of the keyboard/mouse handling IIRC, hence the compatibility update.
When it crashes what happens? Presumably the display just goes black? No actual crash report or anything useful. Does it eventually give the "Display driver Nvidia Windows Kernel Mode driver, (whatever driver version I have) has stopped responding and has successfully recovered." message ??

Here's the diagnostics:

https://pastebin.com/EsBTBrzC

My screen resolution is 1920x1080. I usually run Lotro in Very High or Hi, but have been running all the sessions in Very Low and still had crashes.

When it crashes the display just goes black. No actual crash report or anything useful is displayed. It never recovers or displays an error message.

I'm going to install the development build to see if that works better.

By the way, I've been using Innerspace and ISBoxer since 2010. It's a fabulous product!

Thanks for your time.

Nothing major there. Although it is showing the LavasoftTCPService.dll loading in the game process but you don't seem to be running any Lavasoft products?

The only suggestion I've got at this stage would be to try without Nortons running (i.e. uninstall it), or at the very least setup some excludes in it, so it is not looking at InnerSpace.exe or lotroclient.exe (this would be for realtime scanning as opposed to a total exclude).

Other than that, there is nothing particular about most of the processes that might be graphics related (although there are a couple I don't recognise). Because your screen goes black, then it makes it hard to recognise whether things are still actually running or not (i.e. locked up or just no display out). No display out is usually a driver (which should recover when Windows determines that it stopped), failing component or bad connection, presuming the machine is still running. Proving a failing component can be tricky, especially in this circumstance, and usually would require replacement testing.

edit: spelling...

Thanks very much for looking into this. It's quite likely that the graphics card is failing. I've downloaded the development release of innerspace and it ran all day with no problems- two sessions, both on very high in Lotro. So I'll keep my fingers crossed for now and I think I'll upgrade the graphics card anyway.

Thanks again.
